[Very Small Case Study] Comparing the 4 main plagiarism checkers ✅

It's a shame, instead of SmallSEOTools, if there was 1 text, I think it would be a real top test. Although this is also excellently arranged.
Quetext is a really good plagiarism tool, but I always use Grammarly and 1 text to be safe.
Some writers on the forum only use Copyscape, which is a big mistake.

One of the most powerful plagiarism checkers out there is 1 TXT.

The problem with them is they catch so much content that you run the risk of basically not being able to write anything.

Grammarly, Copyscape, and Quetext are pretty solid in my book.

But for the most part, if you're looking for just "the industry standard", Copyscape premium is pretty much the name of the game.

Quetext is definitely establishing a reputation for itself, but it's not quite there yet.

I do agree with you that Quetext does bring a lot more utility to the table when it comes to comparing plagiarized sentences.

The big downside with Copyscape is contextual.

Meaning, since it just focuses on three word strings in detecting plagiarism, you only need to change one of those three words in that string for it to pass that text.

It goes without saying that Copyscape premium is fairly easy to work around.

Quetext is more demanding and I believe that it should be the industry standard.

It is not quite there yet but it'll probably be the standard sooner rather than later.

False positives are definitely a small issue with 1TXT, QueText, and sometimes Grammarly as well. I say small because I've had QueText bring up a number of sentence fragments that aren't even in the same niche as mine but the sentences were somewhat similar.

I prefer QueText UI currently, but could see myself using 1TXT if I really had to. Copyscape was something I swore by for years and it seems like they haven't updated their detection algo in a long time.

I agree with you about Quetext becoming industry standard.

QueText doesn’t I believe. There’s a page online from 2019 that says they currently don’t. Grammarly does have beta access api. Even if copyscape had an api, I wouldn’t suggest using it.

1Text has free options and at the time of the study allowed me to check the plagiarism of 3 articles at roughly 700-1200 words per article. I believe the usage limits are reset every 24 hours. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Otherwise, There are 3 options for PRO-account:

  • Basic – 50 thousand symbols per day;
  • Standard - 100 thousand symbols per day;
  • Premium - 150 thousand symbols per day.

I can’t seem to find the price model for that.

Second, do you have an idea what does the symbols represent? Symbols is equal to?

I remember having to erase 3-400 words because I was beyond their symbol limit. I was able to run 3100 words for free through their checker. So the daily limit is somewhere in that range.

I don’t know if it’s “the best” but it’s definitely up there. I preferred QueText over everything else, but copyscape was definitely useless.

hey thanks op! that's hell of an eye opener for me I must say. There are thousands of content creators on BHW who guarantees "100% copyscape pass" but now I believe this has to be changed looking at your case study. I am not sure if you have had any study done with SurferSEO inbuilt plagiarism check on its accuracy as it gives unlimited checks (with some waiting of 90 seconds) and costs nothing additional for that tool specifically.
 
A Great case study in side by side for 4 more tools I was looking for the best tools among them though I'm using Copyscape for more than 5 Years with Grammarly was think to move and more advanced one an if have the pro feature that I'ma completely rarely I think quetext this tools.
 
1text is also able to detect spun content, making it the best plagiarism checker out there.
