I am trying to get a non-VOIP SMS number to verify an Instagram account (I only have one phone, how am I supposed to verify a second account? They allow you up to 5 accounts, but only one phone number per account. Who even has 2 phones, much less 5?

I need non-VOIP because Instagram (and everyone else) just ignores VOIP numbers

The service I was using stopped accepting credit cards and then stopped accepting PayPal, and now only accepts bitcoin, which requires all your ID and bank account information to set up. The SMS number is only $2

I looked for other services and they are insane. One said to put in my phone number for verification, the whole reason I want an SMS number in the first place. But I put in my real number, and I never received a code to verify, so I'm unable to get an SMS number there. Other services have other stupid hoops you have to jump through, which all have you running around in circles for hours

Does anyone know of a reliable service where I can get a non-VOIP SMS number and pay with a credit card or PayPal? They have long-term numbers and one-use numbers, either is fine with me. Once an account is verified, they don't bother you again. That's all I want.

It's as if they're looking for ways to turn away my money

Most SMS rentals services only accept BTC from what I've seen. You might be better off just buying BTC, and using the provider you know works. BTC wallets or on localbitcoins verifications aren't very difficult
 
As an Alternate if you prefer to pay via Bitcoin and looking for Non-Voip Numbers,Then textverified.com is your best option.
 
If you can't find a better option, you can get Mint mobile starter SIMs for like $5. It'll have like 200 text, 200 min, etc.

You could offer someone who uses BTC something like $5 each to pay for you...

so i tried this one, it took me 2 hours to set up and get everything they require verified, then i went to pay for $10 and it said, "your card does not support this type of purchase."

when i checked the problem, they said my card was not issued in the same country as the merchant (i'm in U.S. and my card was issued in the U.S., i don't know where the merchant is, or how i'm supposed to know)

why is this so difficult? why can't i just go to a web site and pay with a credit card or PayPal like every other web site???

I see them on BestBuy for $5. Search for Mint Mobile Starter Kit. I believe if your current phone works with T-Mobile, it should work already.
 
A tracfone is only $30 ;) That's what I always do when I get frustrated that none of my numbers are working...

Well thank you everyone, I tried around 20 of these ideas, most were flops.

One that did work well is pva.gg which was listed on one of the links someone sent. Others might work but I stopped trying them after I found this.

You sign up, pay with PayPal, they actually accept your payment without a hassle, and give you the SMS you want for around $1 or $2 each. Mine was strangely in my own area code, which I'm hoping was a fluke if I ever need to use it again.

The SMS number only lasts around 15 minutes and then it disappears, which is long enough to verify a web site.

I think they might also have long-term numbers if you need that instead, but I didn't get into any of that. I had to wait around 5 minutes for the verification code to come in, so don't lose hope if if doesn't show up immediately.
