I forgot to mention, all nutritional value is immediately negated by the volume of booze and drugz I'm downing....

Animals exist to move seeds around. We are gifted with a conscious through years of evolution, it's sad to see how some humans take it for granted and succumb to the idea that man is great and animals are slaves. By eating meat, keeping animals locked up, etc. You're just supporting the idea of hierarchies of control and slavery, for example government. You're their cattle how does that make you feel?

I eat meat because it's fucking delicious, not because I support slavery.

I'm a Pescatarian myself (fish only), but it's not for consideration of the animals, it's for my health. My family has a history of heart disease and red meat is the #1 accelerator of heart disease. It's a wise choice to consider cutting back on your red meat any way you spin it.

real shit

A human can survive without sunlight too, but it doesn't mean it's smart.

Without meat it's hard for the body to process the nine essential amino acids. It's possible a diligent vegetarian diet can help process some, but not most. Just unhealthy.

I dont think humans can survive without sunlight, but anyway let me rephrase it. Humans can survive better without eating meat. Not eating meat is actually healthier then eating meat for humans. And we dont need to eat meat to process the essential amino acids.

When my dad got cancer, we thought he was a goner. That was 6 years ago, and he's been recovering with fresh veggies and MMJ(!)

That's awesome man, were you the one that looked into the cure that saved his life? I only wish I had known about it when my dad passed from diabetes, but I was only a teenager at the time. If more people knew about this type of stuff he'd still be alive no doubt. But as I said in my first post in this thread. Media and big-pharma want sick populations.

:p My revision:

I think human morality is summed up in a simple term, treat others how you would like to be treated. So I commend the activists that stand up for the little guy(animals in this case)

I am seeing so many misconceptions here about how humans need meat, or how early man ate meat and how not eating meat is not healthy.... not true. But If someone would think about how it might be immoral to mistreat another sentient life, i would ask you to at least think of that, and approach a delicate topic like this with some consideration

I agree with everything you've said here - seriously right on the ball!

Have been a vegetarian for more than 9 years to date, and have recently had a few medical tests and am proven to be perfectly healthy!

And about human's being on the top of the food chain - Yes, we are. But we humans have also reached what I believe to be the pinnacle of intelligence (we have reached a stage where we no longer have to evolve) which should lead us to have respect for other animals - I have no problem with people eating meat, it tastes bloody good, but imo raising living things , in terrible conditions, simply to be slaughtered to produce food at a ridiculously inefficient level seems illogical and unethical.

oh, and good guy pig :D

I wonder if you realize how ignorant you sound, you need to calm down
I wonder if you realize how cultist you sound and of course ignorant. Vegans and their propaganda. Any one who doesnt follow your party line is ignorant right? Only the vegans got right to morality and intelligence rest are just born to rape the planet?

What part of anything i said sounded like a cultist? What did i say that you didnt like? You have a problem with the concept of 'treating people the way you would like to be treated' as a foundation of morality? You want to get mad at others just because they try to be considerate and logical unlike yourself. You are an angry person on a witch hunt. Address what i said that you disagree with, otherwise you should just calm down

Animals exist to be eaten, no exceptions. I look forward to the day I can chow down on a panda burger.

Come on man. That attitude sucks. You know what, those terrorists that put those planes into the WTC were probably thinking - these americans exist to be killed, no exceptions. What's the difference between you and them? Eat them, fine. But don't treat them like shit.

An interesting discussion. I was recently looking at Vitamin A, and from what I understand, there are two forms - retinols and carotenes. Retinols come from the fats of animals while carotenes come from non animal foods.

Problem is, it's the retinol form of Vitamin A that is directly linked to vision. Without it, your vision will decrease. And another problem is that the available vitamin A from carotenes has now been found to be not as much as used to be thought from carotenes.

Something vegans might want to look into.

I don't know; just something I came across on a medical website recently.

If you love plants so much why do you eat them. It is not a question of ethics or morality, it is about what you like to eat. As long as you are not eating an animal or plant of an endangered species or a human it is ok.

Frankly the holier than thou attitude of vegans and vegetarians pisses me off. Who are they to judge people ? And does giving up meat make you a better person? I think not.

If it is about non violence then thats another pile of BS since plants have life too and eating plants is violence against them.

If you enjoy eating meat , please carry on.
"If a group of beings from another planet were to land on Earth -- beings who considered themselves as superior to you as you feel yourself to be to other animals -- would you concede them the rights over you that you assume over other animals?"

George Bernard Shaw, playwright, Nobel Prize 1925

There's a difference between flying a plane into a building and eating a chicken sandwich, is there not? Please show me where I endorse animals being treated like shit.

If I've interpreted your post right, you're basically comparing me to a terrorist because I express openly that I enjoy eating meat?

Do you really think I have problem with the foundation of morality? Let us see, you were the one to

1. Say that I sound ignorant
2. Do not understand morality
3. I am inconsiderate and illogical
4. An angry person on a witch hunt

And somehow I am the one who has problem with people and need to calm down?

I was talking to that other member about his post that "eating veggies cure cancer" and "some how meat eaters are brainwashed by big pharma and giant corporations" and in a later post he agreed to it ad verbatim. And I asked him to go troll else where.

In June this year a child hood friend of mine died of abdominal cancer, a veggie diet did not save him. He was diagnosed quite early but still succumbed to it. Spreading false facts and propaganda about a medical condition that kills people and leaves shattered relatives and friends behind, is shameful, dangerous and unethical.

Obviously you are ignorant from the hateful nonsense you say. Someone agreed with you and you went off on them, so yes, you sounded ignorant and need to calm down.

I am asking you if you agreed or dissagreed on the foundations of morality, i never said if you knew it or not.

You are inconsiderate and illogical, i have yet to see you say anything that indicated you have any perception of reason. All i see you do is repeat your conceptions that are unfounded .

Someone that eats extremely healthy and has a body that is funtioning at tip top condition can be cured of cancer or any other disease. Its your body that does the major curing if you treat it right. And yes meat is a big industry, and when you have industry in control then yes you will have corruption.

Being a vegetarian/vegan doesnt mean your healthy, there are a lot of factors involved. For example high fructose corn syrup is vegan, but not healthy. Also eating healthy for a short time will not neccesarily save you especially after years of eating unhealthy, it takes a long time before your out of the woods. And you know what i find amusing is when someone does traditional means to cure disease such as cheemo, no one says anything when that person dies, only when someone does things natural to actually have a chance to be cured is when people have a problem. Sorry about your childhood friend, but there are many things that work against us that cause cancer, thats why Its important to be extremely healthy.
