Bake a special valentine's day cake for my girlfriend. Invite her over and propose her while getting the cake cut by her.

My husband and I have a fun Valentine's Day ritual that we both look forward to but we do it a few days after Valentine's Day.
We start with a $5 budget at The Dollar Tree (everything's $1). A few days after Valentine's Day the candy is half off and we can get twice as much. Then we show each other what we got for each other and head to the all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant with the kids. You CANNOT go to the all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant on Valentine' Day because it is a crazy house in there with all the hungry romantic couples. A few days later and it's just a normal day.
Valentine's Day is nothing special but it's an excuse to have fun and go out so we embrace it.

I clicked here super hopeful that BHW could help me with suggestions about presents to buy on VD (inspiration's low this year..) and most of the comments are fake-rebelish teen emo posts and various loners sharing misery lol... Scratch that, gotta check ebay and amazon, then.. I'd tend to check newegg or radioshack as well but I know I'd appreciate them more than my recipient...

It's just insane that millions of people are buying presents just for Valentine's day. The prices are crazy before two weeks of that day.

The bright side of being single is that I don't have to worry about none of this crap. lol

single now. but, even when i had a gf we didn't celebrate v-day because we treated everyday like it was v-day.
