Well is the quora question ranked on first page? prob why no traffic. I use to build backlinks to my quora posts to get #1 on movies like avengers

Your niche is just low comp if MySpace has high rank kings on topic

Don't call them parasites. They are marketing vehicles. You never know which one will drive you to your destination successfully. There might be a good chance you'll make it part way. But sometimes a backlink isn't worth it, and you need a back link either paid or natural from a site that has lots of referring domains already. With regards to just "parasites" just add them in the most natural and pro way you can possibly, to make things look like you have hella presence on world wide web worldz! lol
