Using PMs to Sell Your Services

How about "Don't".

The past week I have had several people hit me up, unsolicited, to sell me via PMs.

Don't do that to anyone here.


  • It is selfish on your part to think that you deserve anyone's undivided attention for your unsolicited sales pitch.
  • It causes the one receiving the PM to break away from what they were doing.
  • It is annoying as all get out.

AND

It is against the TOS here.

Don't freaking do that.

Yeah, I have started reporting people for doing it now. It is getting out of hand.

The smart marketers will at least personalise the message and offer a review copy or some freebie to entice you, I don't have a problem with that, but unsolicited PM's with just a copy/paste sales message get reported.
 
I have people adding me on skype every few days selling their "500$ a month insta-rank SEO service". No thank you. PM's come in too, just as annoying

edit: as I posted in this thread someone else added my skype soliciting their services. yawn.

What if a user here pm us about a service which might be fulfilled with us and if we pm them with positive result will it be still Breaking TOS?

The most recent asked to see some sample of a service I am offering, 3 PMs later, after I shared what I offered, he tried to sell me his deal.

I'd say he wears size 23 clown shoes but that would be rude on my part.

Its annoying, and maybe its time I started reporting those who do it

PM don't bother me so much, I just delete them

you made a thread about that ? and this didnt wasted your time at all .. and if this thread is about me you can ask the mod to take a look into your's and mine Pm's . I am happy to get a infraction or banned if it was against the TOS . forums are for socializing and connecting with peoples and share ideas but for you its just another market place , you are just here to sell your shit (which i mean is great no doubt you are good at what you do ) as i said in the PM i have big respect for you .. but being frank all the methods you have shared here dont work for shit :D you just share some of info to gain popularity on the forum so you can make money out of it .. just remember that once you were a newbie aswell and someone must have helped you out .. being a human is more important then being a rich man .. :) and i am sorry once again for wasting your time ..

You're quite wrong there on every single count.

BTB shares a lot of useful information on this forum and regularly goes out of his way to help newbies - he gives his help for no other reason than being a nice guy.

I guess you will never be the recipient of that generosity now - but that's your loss, not his.
