Using personal name in your business name/url

I am about to change the name of my SEO firm but I am trying to decide if it is smart to use my name for part of my business name. I would also include my business partners name in it as well such as "Jack and Jill Marketing", "Jack&Jill Marketing" J&J Marketing" as opposed to something more "sporty" (if that's the right word) such as MasterSEO. I believe including my name will sound more professional but I also don't want to portray that myself and my partner are the only SEOs in the company (which we are not). Opinions?

I like the J&J type deal because I find it sounds better. That's just me though... Also if you guys were the first ones doing it in your company then I find that perfectly fine.

need to get the message across of what you are about,
but as you say, nothing too "flasy or sporty".
I like the J&J part a lot though :) appears friendly yet professional
 
"Jack and Jill Marketing" sounds like a family operated marketing business, J&J Marketing sounds waaay more professional. I'd go with J&J anytime, it's about as pro as it gets. xD

J&J may be a trademark (Johnson) - look out for the suits.

Thanks man but Jack and Jill was just an example. That is not my and my partners actual names so J&J would not be the real acronyms.
 
I would drop ampersand (&) to keep it simple.

I don't know if it matters anything and if it gets omitted anyway in searches, but can't use it in domain name, so your "J&J Marketing" will be on "jjmarketing.com" domain. :)
 
Depends on your exact industry:

Advertising agencies regulary use Jack & Jill or as new partners are added to the board can expand out to Jack & Jill and John Associates.

Marketing companies usually go with Impact statements like: Momentum, Conquest etc

If your company is big then Jack & Jill can become its own brand...eg Saatchi & Saatchi.. If you are a small company with two guys it can sound a bit cornershop.
 
I would go for jjmarketing.com , and +1 for J&J Marketing!
 
I know jackshit about this area, but I'd also consider your market and your competitors, are you gonna stand out amongst them in terms of branding/name. If your goal is customers the real challenge is to find a name that is gonna give you jobs, regardless of how you think about it.
 
There is a trick to know which name might convert better. Simply run a adwords campaign in the niche you are marketing to, with both names. See which one get more clicks, running both ads on the same time.

Ooops, sorry.

My 2 cents: A&B is hard to differentiate. Think of how many A&B's there are, unless of course the two names create a nice impact like Smith & Wesson, (accidentally the impact thing is literal with S&W lol).

Why don't you name it some brand name, seoYOURCITY or something like that.

Coming up with the right name for one's business is hard. I have also experienced that. I think I'll go with the J&J.
