Using one email address for multiple web 2.0

Hello BHW members!

Noob here. I was wondering if the email ID associated with Web 2.0 blogs matter? For example, am I likely to get blacklisted or hit in some way if I use one email ID ([email protected], for example) to create accounts in Blogger, Wordpress.com, Tumblr etc.,? Would it be better to create separate email ID's for different accounts? or does it even matter? My goal is to eventually use these as tier 2/1 for my money site.

Not really unless the email is prominently displayed in which case it could give out a footprint. Otherwise it is fine for different properties.

Never had a problem with using one email address for a bunch of different web 2.0 accounts. Just have to watch out for footprints. One footprint you want to watch out for are those contact forms (the one where a visitor's message is emailed to you). Most web 2.0s will use ypur registered email by default for your contact form. While the email address isn't visible on the page to the viewer, it is completely visible if you look at the page source.

Ideally, to avoid possible footprints, use fresh emails for everything. There are plenty of good free alternatives, that do not require phone verification or any other annoying process, like Tutanota, Openmailbox, Zohomail etc.
