I need some kind of IG growth service to start new accounts, and I wanted to know if there were any drawbacks to using it, such as reduced reach or the risk of being banned.

yes. thus why we have created an iPhone farm we first tried API and it was awful

API can get profiles flagged. If you are doing uploads using API, then look into doing it on Real Devices since its safer.

Yes API based growth usually hurts reach and can lead to restrictions. Instagram picks up on unnatural behavior fast.

API is not safer anymore i see with real phones you get higher reach and better overall experience/results

Even when nothing gets banned distribution often feels capped because the activity doesnt look organic to the system.

Are you making your own accounts, or do you buy them?

Yes, using API-based growth services (auto likes/comments/follows) often lowers reach and increases risk of bans on Instagram. The algorithm detects unnatural patterns and tends to deprioritize or restrict accounts that rely on automated actions instead of real engagement.

Using growth services with API actions can help early growth, but it can also lower reach and increase the risk of getting your account banned.

API growth is risky—it often kills reach and leads to restrictions. Instagram flags unnatural patterns very fast.

Most growth services come with trade-offs. They can help kickstart accounts, but poor-quality engagement often hurts reach later and increases ban risk, so it’s safer to go slow and test providers carefully rather than scaling fast.
