Using google translated content

I use it all the time on my money sites NEVER had an issue, i translate content from Dutch to English, take out the grammar errors and just use it, it ranks just fine (content is just a small factor of your rankings, a lot smaller then people belief) and you don't have to worry about dup content of whatever. It has saved me thousands of dollars on writers especially for my ticket sites where i have a lot of translated artist and band descriptions from wikipedia and Dutch music sites on my moneysites.

If it's for a website which you are trying to get ranked in Google then I would say no, get your own quality content written.

Using Google translated content may not be a good idea. I had two reasons why I say so.

Reason #1

Using Google translate doesn't mean your content would be 100% unique. It's just the same thing, just in another language.

Reason #2

Google translate sucks! Visitors who speak the native language might encounter some discrepancies or errors when it comes to grammar and language use.

You really think that Google is going to translate English content back to 4500 languages just to see if you translated the content from whatever to English, do you have any idea what kind of computer power you would need for that

  1. There are roughly 6,500 spoken languages in the world today. However, about 2,000 of those languages have fewer than 1,000 speakers. The most popular language in the world is Mandarin Chinese. There are 1,213,000,000 people in the world that speak that language.

It doesn't suck at all, sure you need to correct the grammar but instead of having to write for 45 minutes your done in 10 and the content looks fine

You WH/SEO scary people really belief that Google is some kind of a god don't you?

Let me tell you that they're not God, not even close to a supercomputer, it is just an algo that can be brokenand exploited

Fuck me sometimes i really feel that i am reading WF again, what you guys do on a BH forum is really beyond me as you're all to scared to implement anything unless it is approved by the Google priests at Moz or searchengineland.

Totally agree with you mate. I have been using translated content for both money site and tier 1 links for the past 2 years and had ZERO problems. Of course for my money site, the content is proofread and fixed but in most cases, there are only a few words to fix so im saving $$$ on content.

Well, try that in Mandarin Chinese. I hate Google Translate because it isn't useful to me when I translated Mandarin Chinese. I tried my hand at translating Chinese web novels before and based on my experience, Google Translate sucks. Can't even differentiate between the small differences between each characters and I had to spend a long time just trying to correct each grammatical error. Mandarin Chinese is different from the English Language. I had to have several books at my side to do proper translations and had to research properly just to understand what the author was trying to imply.

But then again, if that is your opinion. I would respect it. This is a forum not a battlefield. I am just stating my side and you are stating yours. Let's just end that way.

Well maybe the translator doesn't work so well with Chinese, i don't know i am not Chinese i am Dutch and i can say that translating from Dutch to English isn't all that bad, i have gotten less content when i paid for it, but maybe Chinese is a harder language that doesn't translate that well.
