Using cracked Wordpress plugins. Is it safe?

Hey guys, this is my first post on this form :)

I have a question regarding the use of cracked Wordpress plugins. I tried to use a few cracked ones on my website.

However:
- Is the use of cracked plugins safe for your website? (will you not get easily hacked even if your website is hacker proof). and do you get problems with your hosting?
- A lot of people on this forum seem to be talking about that the plugins don't get updated.

Really appreciate if someone could help me out!

Some plugins are cracked by just adding or removing some code from the plugin
Some crackers add other codes that are like a backdoor to your website later

Is this even the case when you just change your .hta file path and wp-config path? It seem to amaze me how these guys are even able to come in. Also installing a simple wordpress plugin for Wordpress security doesn't seem to help, from what I've read on the forum
 
Its totaly NOT safe, I have had too many websites hacked before I have learned this lesson.
 
IME, most, if not all, nulled plugins and themes have backdoors in them. If you are feeling brave, you can try and check with the wordfence plugin. It will find bad codea and pages.
 
For popular WP plugins, you can search and get it in BHW.
Some share clean and procedures to crack the plugins.
 
I found website where you can buy WordPress plugins original files or sometimes licensed.
Plugintheme.net, you can get access to all files for $10 per month with free updates Download.
Not affiliated with this website, I just bought it yesterday.
I first checked fistngerbhw but it's $15 per month and limited to 5 downloads per day if you pay monthly, also not all plugins there.

Let me share a quick story to warn you guys.

I made a price comparison website when I was a student. Was dead happy when I earned 500/600 USD/month. Was a lot of money back then. The problem was just that I had downloaded a plugin because I did not want to pay the single-fee of 10 USD....which literally costed me the whole site. It's not fun when you log onto your site and all you get is a white screen and/or redirect to some spam. Everything was deleted - and I did not do backups back then.

Lesson learned.

Or there's a backdoor that's shaving your leads/clicks or just a plain access to your site.

There are plenty of GPL sites or there are services on here to get cheap ( cheap meaning almost free ) themes and plugins.
 
If the source code is encrypted, it's 99% not safe. Otherwise, read the code and see if there is something suspicious.
 
Depends on the nulled plugin provider.

You can easily tell if the script has an exploit or not, all you need is a text file comparer and little tiny bit of thinking
 
They'll be backdoored most of time, i do not recommend at all
 
Thanks for all your input guys! I actually ditched the idea of cracked plugins and became a member from FestingerBHW. Well worth it
 
Plugins can do anything in your server. Plugin developers usually include injection code so they can run things in your server in case you crack them.

If you're too cheap to pay 20 bucks for something then you should probably get out of IM.
