using copyrighted image and video in youtube

I am wandering how a lot of youtube channel can use the copyright video and images in their own youtube videos.

I saw some channel like Alltime10s , they use abundant of copyrighted vids and images but give the credit to the owner.

So, MY QUESTION IS

Is It ok to use copyright image and vids in the google or other website and give credit to them but without asking for their permission?

99.99999% of the time you'll get away with it, but there is always that slight change for trouble.

I never do it, but just find a royalty free image search engine or at the very least leave credit in the description if it worries you.
