Using an .edu service is it safe?

There are a lot of services on here which offer an .edu service.

We are looking into it and questions have been asked if it's safe to use. I believe it is, is there anything I should worry about with these kinds of services?
It looks like they are posting follow backlinks using profiles on the university websites.

The .edu backlinks carry high authority and it is completely safe to have. In my experience, .edu backlinks haven't caused any trouble. Its totally safe.
 
Make sure they are not scholarship links. Those can be harmful if mishandled.

What do you mean by scholarship links?
 
It depends. If the edu page is spammed to death with links then it might hurt you if they receive a manual review.
 
Just avoid people that offer edu backlinks but then you will get just redirection link from .edu links
 
The .edu domain was originally intended for educational institutions anywhere in the world and it is safe to use for sure.
 
Doing so may give you high-quality authority links. These sites tend to be valuable as well as you need to be an educational institution in order to obtain such domain extension.
 
Edu links carry higher authority. It would be helpful to have a few of them.
