I am unable to access my old AdSense account, so I verified and created a new account under my friend's name. However, I have concerns regarding taxes. I live in Germany, and I don’t think Google shares information about the AdSense account owner with the tax office.

Is there a way for the tax office to find out that the AdSense account is not under my name? If they do find out, would they care about it?

As long as I pay taxes on the money deposited into my bank account under my name or company, it shouldn’t matter whose name the AdSense account is under, right?

I’m asking specifically because I want to ensure that my friend isn’t at risk of any issues like tax evasion or legal trouble.

Technically, if the Adsense account is under your friend's name, and you’re the one earning the income, it could be a bit of a gray area. The tax office will mainly care about who’s actually receiving and reporting the income, so as long as the money ends up in your account and you pay taxes on it, you should be okay. However, if Google or any legal body looks into the account and sees that the name doesn’t match up with the bank account or tax filings, it could raise some questions. It’s best to be transparent and keep everything above board to avoid any potential issues down the road. Just make sure you report the income properly, and consider consulting with a local tax advisor for peace of mind.

Your friend has to pay tax on earnings. It means you have have the agreement with him about these taxes.

Your Friend has to pay the taxes and you refund them

It's better the payment account to be at your friend name

Also be careful about when your friend transfers you the money (due to donation or money transfer taxes are common in UE countries) better make him to give you the money in cash and alert him to withdraw the money in splits of maximum 500€ per day

Bruh, it's in his name, he's gonna have to pay.

The only thing here you have to care about it is the TAX fees, so your friend have to pay it, and you have to pay back you friend for this TAX charge

No it doesn't matter as long as you provide EU IBAN.

Might cause tax issues, better to use your own name!

You're right about the gray area regarding Adsense accounts under someone else's name. Transparency is key to avoiding future issues, especially tax reporting. It's always wise to ensure the income is properly reported and aligned with your tax filings. Consulting a tax advisor is an excellent precaution.
