I know you can change the user agent in IE by editing the registry. Example at: enhanceie(dtcom)/ua.aspx
This will spoof part of the user agent but not the .net version or any other add-ons. How would you change the executable file in so that these are also changed?

I don't know about IE or the exe file, but for Firefox there are a couple add-ons you can use to get the job done.

First one is: User Agent Switcher

The second which is more powerful is Modify Headers

User Agent Switcher covers javascript detection, where as Modify Headers does not. But with modify headers you can change all your headers which is nice.

http://www.whatsmyuseragent.com/ - is a nice site to show your headers

Cheers!

Thanks for the info, but can't these add-ons be detected if you are visiting certain web sites?
Do you know where I can download sample headers?

One more thing, when you mention "User Agent Switcher covers javascript detection, where as Modify Headers does not" do you mean that javascript will show that you are spoofing your headers if you use the modify headers program?
