User vs Keywords

Focus on the user first to understand their needs and create engaging content. Then use keywords naturally to help search engines connect your content to what people are searching for.

Think Like This Buddy
User = Why they are searching for it
Keywords = What users are searching for

It is not really “user vs keywords.” The best results come when you align the user’s intent with the right keywords. Both are equally important.

I would suggest you to start focusing on the users, like what they need, what they are searching for.
Then, work in the right or relevant keywords.
Both Users and Keywords are important.
What really makes the difference is how you approach them.

There doesn't need to be an 'or'. When you focus on a user's problem, you'll automatically get the right keyword.

That’s the classic philosophical SEO question, tbh! The answer in 2025 is always the user's intent—it's not even close, dude.

Keywords are the "What": They tell you what the user is typing.

User Intent is the "Why": This tells you why they typed it ( Learn? Find a location?).

If you satisfy the user's intent perfectly, they won't hit the back button (Pogo-sticking), which sends a massive positive behavioral signal to Google. The algorithm is smart enough now to know if you satisfied the user, regardless of how many keywords you stuffed in there. Keywords just point you in the right direction; the user's satisfaction is the ranking factor.

First think what's your need then search that related keywords maximum 2 to 3 long tail keywords choose will better.

Google uses keywords to understand content, but it ranks pages that solve the user’s intent best. If you optimize only for keywords, results won’t last. If you optimize for users (clear answers, good UX) and naturally align keywords, rankings are more stable and sustainable.

User first, keywords second that is the real order in modern SEO. Keywords only tell you the language people use, but the user decides whether your page deserves to rank. If the content genuinely helps, Google picks up the signals fast. Focusing on people naturally covers the right terms anyway.

Is it better to think about the user or the keywords in SEO?
Both goes
You can target users without keywords

And you can't just do keywords without minding what users are looking for and taking them from point A to B

Think about the user first, and use keywords to support that goal.

Modern SEO rewards content that genuinely solves user problems, not content stuffed with keywords.
