Use bad BlackHat SEO to hurt competition?

Do you think its possible to hurt a competitor website by using cheap black hat SEO techniques?

For example:
- Buy a lot of cheap spammy backlinks from websites like fiverrr.
- Buy cheap bot traffic to get him banned from the ad network he is using.

Do you think it is possible to do? How much would it cost/how hard it is?

What would you do?

That is not ethical at all... Just ask your self, Do you want someone to do that to you?
 
Obviously you can, but you should focus on your own efforts instead of ruin others business.
 
Well what I have understood is that Bad SEO might not hurt your competitor, but might help him rank his site too. I do not know about the ad network tho :)
 
Negative SEO is frowned upon, focus on your own campaign rather than those around you. An all out niche war is not something you'd like to be part of, they are nasty and you will end up loosing out yourself.
 
Don't be that guy. Just build a good site.

Let's say you took the time to build a quality private blog network or something, and got some sites ranking, and them someone came along and spammed your money site and PBN to death. Wouldn't be very fun would it? Do unto others and all that.
 
If your competitor is good enough at SEO to rank better than you he will also be able to damage your site more than you will damage his.

He will probably figure out who you are too.

Why would you want to do that? Let's say you have a website ranking 1 in Google and someone does that to you. That site being your only source of income. That's pretty low in my opinion.

Yes You can..but beware some times negative SEO will turn to +ve SEO :banana:
