Hello, I created an IG account but it was GEO locked to my country and i want USA Followers and viewers. So I will restart but need some help.

I am planning on: Buying aged USA IG account but my friend recommended I use a USA Residential IP/Proxy to post my reels

But why should I use a USA residential IP?

First, the price is very expensive from the sellers I've seen here. $60 for a month for 4G...really? I just want to post 1 reel a day

2nd: can't i use a USA VPN?

I only want to have 1 account. I don't need 5-10+ accounts to spam IG. I just want my content to be viewed by USA people.

Thanks in advance!

Why? Because IG will recommend your content in the geo your account is based from - and that doesn't solely depend on just registering from a select geo but also where you use it regularly and where do you post from and many other things. USA proxies are expensive because they cost much more to run in usa, you could try looking up plans from their service providers. Other option would be get a proxy based of data use, it'll be a little cheaper.

USA VPNs are probably based on datacenter IPs and abused a lot so even if you somehow get it to work, your account will probably ask for phone verification multiples times and your account's trust score won't be good. If you gonna go this route, then getting a datacenter proxy could be even cheaper option than vpn.

If you want followers to actually engage from the US, residential is the way to go, no shortcuts

residential IP's ussually look more natural to platforms than the VPN or datacenter IPs, so there's less risk of getting flagged.

UGH so annoying that I have to buy a residential IP...which I don't want to but i will try again.... i understand now. Thank you everyone

Most VPNs have blacklisted IPs, and that's why it's better to use residential proxies or 4g mobile proxies.

VPN can work in some cases, but residential IPs tend to look more natural and stable. If you’re only running one account, you just need to weigh the cost vs. how important consistency is for you.

In short: Using a US residential IP helps Instagram trust your location, so your content shows more to US users. If the account already has a US history, mixing it with a VPN or non-residential IP can raise flags and reduce reach. If budget is tight, start with a good VPN or cheaper mobile proxy and test. Use the US IP consistently for at least 1–2 weeks, post during US peak hours, engage with US content, and make sure your bio and location signals match. Small paid boosts can also help speed up growth.

Hi everyone, i fully understand now. Thank you for replying

If you are running 1-5 accounts, a residential IP is good to use for your account since they would be more cost effective. That being said, for 1-5 accounts, it wouldn't make much sense to get a 4G proxy since those would be for people running 40+ accounts,

because people can't think outside the box for two minutes and everybody wants to flood american audience like there is no other rich country in the world

If you only use 1 account, a good US VPN is enough, and a residential/4G proxy is only needed when running multiple accounts or auto.

Residential IPs are usually seen as more ‘real’ compared to VPNs, so they reduce the risk of blocks or flags. VPNs can still work, but sometimes IG can detect them which might cause issues. For one account though, many people manage fine with a solid VPN.

if you want to target US audience, you need a good residential/mobile proxy. Post in US hours, EST/PST, engage with creators in US with the same niche. If you don't have a budget yet, VPN is okay but risky.

You can use a cheaper residential proxy instead of a 4G one

Using a USA residential IP helps Instagram trust your location as real, avoiding geo-blocks or flagging. VPNs, especially shared or data-center ones, often get detected and can hurt reach or cause restrictions. If you only post once daily, a good residential proxy is ideal but costly. Alternatively, a high-quality VPN dedicated to the US might work just avoid free or cheap options. Quality over quantity here.
