US Customs has seized three of my packages.

I know I'm a noob on here but I just discovered BHW looking for advice.

My back story in a nutshell. I have been seeking on eGay legitimately for about 10 years. I recently discovered this site called alixpr3s. Everything seemed good at first. Everything came in no issues, customers were happy. But now US Customs has seized three packages through DHL.

I was getting a card game called Crads Agenst Hewmanity at first. After receiving my first order I had my doubts at first so I opened up a set and compared it to one I order from the company itself. Everything looked genuine. So I thought all was well.

Fast forward about 2 months now I have three orders seized through DHL. Two of them are Cards Agenst Hewmanity, and one is Outtrbox cases. All through alixpr3s I am questioning the sellers if everything is genuine because I had no issues before.

Crads Agenst Hewmanity sold just fine on eGay. Never sold outtrboxes before. If everything turns out to be not good, what are the possible outcomes?

Unless I'm missing something here I don't see that you'd be in any trouble at all really. You're not receiving anything illegal, and buying in bulk isn't against the law or anything, so I don't see any reason you couldn't pick up the packages. They may ask you some questions, which I'd avoid answering, or give extremely vague responses, but I don't think they can arrest you for buying in bulk online.

Customs seized cards against humanity for being fake??? So how many did you order?!
Or they are not really "seized", customs just want you to pay duties to release the items?
Also what I do not get about cards against humanity, they can be bought for $10 from the official website, and I see a seller on ebay who sold more than 50 (!) in one week, he sells 4 expansions which are $40 on the website for $39.99 on ebay. So it is the same price on ebay as if you buy from the official manufacturer, and still people prefer buying from an unknown seller???

You're buying in bulk, eh?

How many pieces were in each seized shipment?

100 expansions of Cards in two of them (200 expansions total)
200 outtrboxes in the other one.
How many boxes each shipment had, I do not know DHL just has a master tracking number.

Seized for what ? Counterfeit goods or unpaid tax and duty ?

I do not know. I called DHL and they said it is out of their hands and customs has it. I've never had anything seized by customs before so I'm freaking out. Worst case scenario is that I have been dealing with fakes. Which alixpr3s guarantees genuine I believe, so I felt safe ordering from their site.

So have you received any notification that your items have been seized ? Could just be a delay in customs you know. I had some parts sit around customs for three weeks once while they bothered to do clearance. In that case its out of the couriers hands but unless you have been notified by customs then its not over yet.

I have not heard anything from customs. I only know it's at customs because DHL tracking said yo "Contact DHL" and so I did and t they said customs had it.

If I owe duty on it how and who contacts me?

Customs will contact you. First of all, relax.. you are not going to get into any trouble.

I had some cigars confiscated by customs once... they were cubans and were sent by a friend in the Bahamas. I was going to take them to an IM conference and share them about with all the BHW fellows but they were confiscated.

I got a letter asking me if I wanted to claim them and I just ignored the letter.

Nothing came of it.

Now the funny thing is my friend sent 40 cigars but customs said they only had 37... where did the other 3 go?

some magic right there!

Happy Customs agents on my nickel.

Well, half my nickel as my friend paid for the other half as he was coming out to Vegas for the same convention.

We had a laugh about it though.

have dealed with aliepr3ss for some years now, doubt they are genuine, just very close... or same makers, but was not approved to be made so does not go through qc

Good to know. Have you had any issues using alixpr3s? I had my last order from alixpr3s come in through fedex and there was no issue. Must be DHL has less volume in the United States that they time to indirect packages. Probably will not order from them again.

To anyone following this thread I have not heard any update from Customs. But after doing some research I think the outtrboxes are more than likely fake. That is something I would not want to touch with a 10 or even a 20 ft pole. So if they ever decide to show up I'm going to destroy them. Yeah it's a loss but I would rather take the loss than deal with legal issues with outtrbox company.

Update today. My suspicions were correct and customs have identified the cases as counterfeit and they are subject to forfeiture if I do not reply. They appraised the domestic value at $2,446.00 which I guess is not a huge because they treat seizures of $5,000+ differently.

Hope this helps anyone else who is in a similar situation.
