Does .us has a negative impact for seo? Im about to buy a .us domain and im not even in the states. Im in Canada.

Honestly, we're not focusing on SEO. We're going to be focusing traffic from Ads, blogs, forums.

But let's say i ended up focusing on SEO.. Will it have a huge impact to beat my .com competitors?

.us is good for if you are targeting us audience. Seo or ads.
Else go for .com.
Bonus- buy .us and redirect it to .com.

.com can give some prestigere or whatever to a site, in the eyes of costumers who have to choose from a .com site and a .xyz site, probably the .com is the go-to

it depends what you want, if you wanna to build a long-term brand, than .com domain is preferred, it really depends what to do with your site, what money you have and how much you want to spend on each site

anyways expired domains will rank faster

The name that i want is taken for .com but it's not trademarked not incorporated. So if we take the .us and trademark and inc it. the name will be ours and he's forced to change the name or give us the domain.

Long term yes for sure.

There's 2 problem you will face if you don't own the same .com. 1st .com will steal some of your traffic. 2nd you will loose natural backlinks to .com.

Did not even think about that!

Definitely NO, you won't beat .com competitors and this is a fact

Yeah i figured in the end actually. Not worth the .us

Like if you want to focus only US, .US domain will be good. But the same .US domain will not be good to rank globally. Also .com, .org. .net are good extensions to go with.

Rest it all depends on your content and tactics. They mainly affect in local country or region specific searches

I would just buy .us too domain just in case. Its only 99cents at sav.com. Most of time you can get very short or one word domain name. Google algo love short and one-word domains.
