Hi guys, I really need your help on this! The situation is very simple, but no one is giving me a straight answer so I`m hoping you`ll help me...
I have a few websites, like 10-15. Some simple html websites with a few pages only and a few blogs in wp. Nothing too fancy that a shared hosting won`t do.
But my primary website is a wordpress custom template with a simple register login feature and inside, the users have other 2 pages with blog posts and a chat page. And that`s where the catch is.
My shared hosting suspended me because the chat app was making too many delayed server requests. I guess they got alerted when i used maxvisits to drive traffic and it turned out to be bots flooding the website. However they told me that a plugin is causing those lags in server responses. The plugin is related to the chat so I`m guessing the chat app can`t handle my shared hosting.
SO MY QUESTION TO YOU ALL IS:
If I`ll have 200 or 500 or 1000 or 2000 users on chat who will chat on a daily basis + let`s say 20k daily unique visitors for my websites and blogs on my hosting account, WHAT DO I NEED? a vps or a dedicated server?
if I need a VPS, what recruitments do you think will suffice? (so I don`t get fooled by them and buy a more expensive configuration)
if I need a DEDICATED SERVER, what recruitments do you think will suffice? (so I don`t get fooled by them and buy a more expensive configuration)
Someone told me that a 2GB ram VPS can do the job, someone else told me I need at least 4GB ram and dedicated server.
Please help me find out what I really need for my website and if you can help me by telling me the right configuration that will suffice my needs you can also tell me the name of the provider you think it`s good and reliable. I need honest reviews and help, not commercial ones...
Thanks a lot in advance and good luck to you all in your endeavours!
