I remember stumbling upon a porn site once that embedded full videos from the top porn companies. Every video was hosted through openload and that's how the site generated revenue for the most part. Could someone with background in this business share their experiences? The two main questions I have is 1. Is this a viable way of making money? and 2. Can you get caught uploading copyrighted content to openload?

2. Yes you can. You can try hide using always different network, vpn-s, proxies. At least they will close you account on openload and delete all uploaded videos.
