[Updates & Tests] - Instagram

Hello everyone,

let's talk about what instagram is preparing for us.

1) Instagram is testing Direct on Desktop version (web).

2) Instagrams's “Main account” is reportedly being tested.

For those who do not know what that means.

Basically instagram is testing that, you would be able create multiple accounts (number is uknown, but my guess will be 5) with one password and email.

3) Instagram is pushing IGtv as much as possible, we all know that already...

So, they've decided they will add - put IGtv posts on home feed.
(i had this feature for a while, unfortunetely i updated to next version, before i took a screenshot and it disappeared)

It showed up like “recommended for you” and look like 3+ IGtv posts next to each other (smaller than regular post) between 2 posts on your home feed (different than screenshot bellow).

If you have this feature, feel free to share a screenshot.

Also Instagram announced on their twitter:
“Now, you can preview IGTV videos in your feed. When there's a new video from someone you follow, you can tap from your feed to watch the full video in IGTV.”

4) Instagram is working on Quiz Stickers - This could be huge update for stories.

IMO this could really help, to get more views - exposure on your stories.

Nice post! Always good to stay on top of what Instagram is headed towards!

2) Even with this I would still keep all of your accounts separate. Most likely if one gets banned then they all get banned.

4) They've had polls already which has been really useful. Adding quizzes could potentially be epic depending on what that entails.

Yeah or even hacked... IMO it is useless but we will see.

I really hope that they will add this feature, this could make a lot of difference in stories (if used properly).

Interesting. I will follow this thread. It feels like their IGTV model was created to compete with youtube so influencers will not take their traffic out of their platform to youtube

I agree, it cost them lot of money daily...

I have to admit one thing, when they released the IGtv i didn't like it. Why would someone spent time on instagram videos, when there is YouTube plus, you can just turn your screen and it is more comfortable...

But as time goes, i like the idea more and more - do not get me wrong, i do watch these videos very rarely... (one / month, i am being very optimistic)

For me even one minute videos are too long (on home feed), and as i am observing it for more people too (that is why i post on my accounts videos around 30 sec, they got more views, than the longer ones).

But there are people what create great content (what is watchable) + i like when the videos cover full screen (IMO they've tryed something like stories - since lot of people complains that 15 seconds is not enough for one post).

They had to spent really high ammount of money on this, so they are trying to save it.

I think they will suecced IF:
You would be able to rotate your screen to watch videos in panorama mode (i agree with the idea that when you are watching videos what are one minute long it is not necessary to turn your screen, but if is it longer i feel it is more comfortable to put it in panorama),

there will be something similar like YouTube monetization - to get more creators on the platform,

It would help your profile stay above others what do not use IGtv (IG algorithm, would benefit you - what already does nowadays, but i would like to see more of the push)

Instagram is working on “Donation Sticker”

It lets users to start fundraisers for their favorite non-profits

Next news:
Instagram only marks your credit card entry as "disabled" instead of actually deleting the data when you remove it from your payment methods.

So next time when you are going to paid for ads.

Make it from Credit Card what you dont care about...


IGtv - unfortunetely i couldn't find more information.

I was expecting more from IGTV, as for now I don't see myself using it or look for it often.

What is exactly this "donation" sticker? Are we talking about likes or real money lol? If the second answer is correct I'm going to become an influencer right now

About IGtv, well they've said multiple times that this year will be more about commerce and shopping.

Instagram is trying to collect as much as possible data about credit cards from their users.

So, when they release their shopping feature/s people wont leave their cart without buying the product (their payment information will be already filled up).

Pretty funny...

According to my information, in the begining this feature will be able to only charities, later on MAYBE they will make it able for every profile on instagram...

As i've been lurking through different sources, it seems like they will release this feature on end of this year...

I'll keep you updated, when i will know more.

The donation sticker is definitely worthy of an update to discuss.
If there comes a day where its expanded to local or even individuals
I see the path paving itself for "supporting content creators" directly through the platform
This could eat into a subsection of Patreon if they implement a recurring donation.

And of course, this could pave the way for new BH methods on the platform.

So definitely interesting to watch out for.

Instagram will give Creator Accounts an option to hide their contact details and category from their profile

Great updates @Filipo666 this is goldmine. Also, I've found out recently that when you create mass accounts it's better to slow down clicks especially at the very last pop up where it's asking if you are 18 or not. Just check the "I'm 18..." and wait for 10 - 15 sec and it will go smooth afterward.

1) Instagram's Direct is testing an improvede media picker, now with:

- Saved & Liked posts (tabs for personal accounts)
