Update or publish and delete article?

Is it better update an existing post or rewrite it, publish the new article and delete the old one?

What needs to be done is not just to add a few lines, but I have to write the whole article all over again but with the same title and topic.
The old article is already indexed and ranked

Just update the content, Google will reflect the change after recrawling.

It is better to update the content with good quality and visuals by focusing on the audience.

For an article that has been published, it is better to rewrite it than making a new post or page about it because then you just lose the keyword power and SEO which would have been established with the old post. Just copy it on word and make all the edits needed.
