Unfortunately, both WTB and HAF on this forum are a joke nowadays

If you have examples of this, report them. Or list them and contact Support about them. We, as a rule, do not allow members to become sellers on here if their posting history is sheer post count laziness or AI slop or both. But we're not perfect, we may have missed some.
Those reports were all rejected previously, but I'll report them again.

I think that something that would definitely helps everyone is to just create a way to disallow "people" to comment on sales thread. Let me be clear about this: everytime i want to try a service from a member from a sales thread, almost all those who have sales thread created in 2026 have a lot of comments like "been using this service for a month, the seller is very good". BUT THE ACCOUNT IS CREATED THE SAME DAY! I always see that those accounts are banned, but so far, the comments aren't erased.

My user is relatively new here in bhw, but i've been reading this forum for years, so i just simply avoid any service from a sales thread with this comment pattern. But what worries me is that maybe someone new here will see all this comments and think the seller is good, and be lead to a scam. I know i'ts hard to handle something like that, because that would need to have someone looking at all sales thread... but all in all, maybe direct someone from admins to do that would definitely helps improve the quality (also punish the sellers that does that would help as well).

Because it's just natural human behavior. Almost nobody praises a good service, so to think that someone that just created the account would to that, this is just unreal.

This is off topic but i understand you are talking about fake reviews.

There are a few relatively new sellers here whose entire post history is some slight variation of "discount plz" posted across dozens of sales threads.
I'm pretty sure that's the reason new mod is here, to clear these spam accounts. It's easy for us to complain about it but it's not an easy issue to solve, they have to avoid damaging real members while removing the bots

There have been some really good and interesting suggestions in this thread and we will be discussing some of them in our weekly Community meeting on Monday.

We're going to leave this thread open as we'd be interested to hear any more you may have.

Hello,

I've seen how bad the situation has become in the WTB and HAF sections, and I have a very good suggestion for BHW to help reduce scammers and spam.

Why not disable copy-paste replies in the comment section?

Sellers should be required to write their replies themselves instead of simply copying and pasting the same offer everywhere.

I believe this could significantly reduce spam. A lot of these accounts look like they are using bots or automated systems. If copy-paste replies are no longer allowed, those bots will not be useful anymore because sellers would actually have to write their own replies.

Honestly, there is a lot of unnecessary headache going on in these sections right now.

Just my suggestion.

I already pretty much guessed, but take a look at this reply i got from claude.

Why "disable copy-paste" doesn't really work:
  1. Browser/clipboard restrictions are trivially bypassable. JavaScript can block Ctrl+V or right-click paste in a textbox, but this only stops the most casualuser. It doesn't stop:
    • Typing from a second monitor or device
    • Browser extensions that re-enable paste
    • Simply disabling JavaScript
    • Using the browser's dev tools/console to inject text
    • OCR-and-retype bots (yes, these exist)
  2. A bot doesn't need "paste" as an action. Automation tools (Selenium, Puppeteer, API-based bots) don't use your clipboard or keyboard at all — they programmatically set the value of the text field directly. From the server's perspective, that's indistinguishable from a human typing, since no "paste event" ever needs to fire.
  3. No software can reliably detect "was this typed live vs pasted" after the fact from the final text alone. Once a post is submitted, the server just sees a block of text. There's no forensic marker in plain text that proves keystroke-by-keystroke entry unless the platform is actively monitoring keystroke timing/rhythm client-side (which itself can be spoofed by bots, and raises privacy concerns few forums would accept).

I do not think disabling copy paste is the right solution. Many legitimate sellers use saved replies because they receive the same questions repeatedly. The real issue is spam bots which should be handled through better moderation or anti spam measures instead of restricting everyone.

Unfortunately, disabling copy/paste isn't an option. As noted, there's ways around it and we'd have to limit it to those 2 forums which make it harder since it can't be forum wide. I'd likely quit if I didn't have access to copy/paste for my day to day.

BUT, I do like this out of the box thinking. The more ideas that get piled onto the table, even if not feasible, the chances that it'll inspire someone or someone knows of something that will work will pop up.

Totally agree with 100% you're saying. Had the same exactl experience. People who have everything and who want to sell you 1000 pinterest traffic for 300$ or a 50e guestpost for 500e.

This has become like Fiverr. Were a group of people have 1000 accounts and outsource.

I think they mainly targer new users who find BHW trough google.

I also noticed alot of good people who haven't logged in for a year.

I suspect the traffic is way smaller than it was back in 2013-2018 on BHW. People made their money and moved on from IM and blackhat

4:17am it had 18 answers
Seller here (who also tried to us WTB myself for certain items), and this cuts the other way too. Reading a spec properly and checking you can actually deliver it takes 20-30 minutes before you type a word. By then a thread like that one is three pages of interchangeable "DM me" and the buyer has already drowned. There was a WTB this week that was a genuine fit for our inventory and I closed the tab, because being reply 96 under that wall helps nobody, the buyer least of all. The current setup rewards whoever reads the least.

There may be something we haven't thought of that's a low hanging fruit
The low hanging fruit is reply latency, and the forum is already sitting on the data. Nobody reads a 300-word spec, checks their stock against it, and types three paragraphs in 60 seconds. The 4:14 -> 4:17 example above is 18 replies announcing that nothing read the thread. Two cheap versions of the same fix: a slow mode that holds replies for the first 30-60 minutes of a WTB/HAF thread (a considered offer two hours in loses nothing, the race is the only casualty), or quietly sort marketplace replies by seconds-since-OP on the mod side and watch the same accounts top that list week after week. The bot list writes itself.

And in fairness to the saved-reply crowd: nobody on this forum is scandalized by automation, lol. The line isn't tools, it's whether anything read the buyer's spec before deciding to answer. Speed is just the tell that nothing did.

It's not a total solution, but just be very specific, for example: I like to buy X accounts from 2010 with no suspensions, a proxy from Canada, and if you don't fulfill my requirements and don't have what I need, then please don't post, or you will be reported. Please dm me only and be responsive as well.
Again, it doesn't fix the problem, but the more specific you are, as @PetraAnn stated, the harder it is for them to generate an AI that makes sense. Plus, it's easier for us to take action.

This is not criticism for BHW mods, they are probably doing their best and they are currently reviewing a scam accusation that I made. I just hope this thread is not locked in a few hours.

I'm talking about the sellers. I've been trying to hire someone and buy some services on this forum since last week, but it's simply unbearable. My posts were bombarded by 3 kind of people:

- Spammers: they simply do not read what I'm saying, they are probably bots triggered by some kind of keyword and post their reply. When you talk to them, they simply can't provide what I'm looking for. Their bot system do not read my specifications, so they just offer a vague service ignoring my mentioned personal needs. In the end it's a waste of time for everyone.

- Scammers: accounts created this year offering any kind of service, they have everything when you check their post history, they are offering vccs, reddit comments, press releases, facebook accounts, cloaking tools, whatever you want, they have. Also, they have fake feedback created by newbie accounts with 0/1 post. Just to say about verified upgraded members, I also reported some newbies bothering me with Telegram usernames (solved by mods).

- Farms and resellers: overpriced services resold by farms. You check their sales threads, compare with other members and you can see they have multiple accounts selling the same service (or reselling with overpriced fees). Also vague, they do not read my specifications, just copy and paste the same offer and hope it is what I need.

Truly hard to find something useful on those sections in 2026, maybe in a few days some human beings will take the time to read something and offer a personalized offer based on my needs instead of just repeatdely copying and pasting the same text for everyone, until then, I'm forced to look for real workers elsewhere.

the fact that you see what some of us have seen for years shows your watchfull.
i sold on bhw 2009 - 20 - i sold to many people, never done a refund, never been
scammed because if i smelt a rat - i kicked them to the curb . all you can do is report
dodgey people you suspect are scammers and move on .

my favorite coment from a mod to me .

never been asked for a refund, NEVER << that’s how you do business.

It just happened to me, I created a post last night, just woke up to check the answers and messages on DM. Half were scammers (quickly banned by moderators after report), the other half are members offering something different.

If they offer something different than what you asked for, report them. That is NOT allowed.

Exception would be, if you're looking for a google account created in 2010 and they have a 2009, that could be ok. But not a you're looking for a google account and they're offering you a hotmail account instead. Or proxy service.

Make a honeypot thread from a newbie account that staff owns and fill out some bs requirements and at the bottom put only bots will reply to this.

Warn/ban anyone who comments and force them to watch hentai.
