The under negotiation tag means it has been sold through private negotiation post auction. The transaction closed in May according to their logs. Copycats are abound in electrical shavers lists, and there are a couple of different niche sites on the front page as well.

Great informative post just like your PBN one. I also tend to find that 'Top Product Category' makes a great KW for Amazon sites as well.

You should make around $200 - $500 with 1000-2000 uniques, if you have a good conversion rate and a high price item. 1000-2000 uniques are pretty low though, with all the long tails traffic a niche site should get at least to 10,000 uniques per month (and $1000+ per month) revenue.

Usually on low traffic you have a higher cpm, cpm decreases when the traffic increases as the quality of the traffic decresaes and there aren't that many converting keywords left and you have to be happy with whatever traffic you can get.

Is there an issue with importing products in your niche and going back and rewriting descriptions? To be clear I am not advocating or suggesting spinning but if you are selling razors, why not import the razors and go from there?

I guess I am just trying to clear up what you are suggesting. Are you suggesting just hand picking a few products and build from there?
 
Nick, thanks for taking time to write up this guide I think it will help a lot of people here. In point 6 how would you link the articles internally from a SEO point of view? I think that is more important really. Everyone lays stuff out different that is why I am interested to hear your take:

IE

Fluff 1 --> Pillar 1
Pillar 1 --> Pillar 2
Pillar 2 --> Pillar 4

etc

Hand picking a couple of razors and making personalized article explaining why those are the best choice and justifying your decision will lead to higher conversion rates and trust on behalf of your visitors.

Also, when you mass imports product, each product will be on its own page, which will make it virtually impossible to get them to rank, even if you rewrite the descriptions, as such low quality pages are not ranking in top anymore.

Individual, longer articles, more in-depth that cover multiple products in the same post and compares them pros and cons seem to work better for content based niche amazon sites.

I do not have a predefined internal linking structure, because i customize it for every website depending on what articles and how i have written them. As you said, internal linking is crucial for passing link juice, and i link internal whenever i get an option. Each article on my website usually has 2-3 internal linkings, some of them leading to pillar articles, some of them to fluff articles - individual reviews of that particular model if its mentioned. There is no specific method, i go with the gut and the rule that every articles should link to at least 2-3 other articles on my website.
