Two keywords in One Combination

This is provably a question but I haven't been able to find the answer... Is it good practice to combine two keywords to form a longer keyword? For example if my keywords are BROWN DOGS and DOGS TRAINING I could just use the keyword BROWN DOGS TRAINING... Im not directly interested in that kw because it won't bring any traffic, but it combines the two that brings, so with the same SEO effert I would be targetting double the keywords.

Where are you planning to use this keyword? As anchor text? On site? In my opinion, as anchor text you'd better stick to your main keywords (brown dogs, dogs training) although you will also want some anchor text diversity, but on site you should not hesitate to mix it all up to make sure you get plenty of long tail variants of your keywords.

of course not, try to read again brown dogs training, it would have a different meaning. how about white dogs? they wont care to come to you since you only have brown. but for dogs training, they would cause eventually white dogs are dogs. see the difference?

Im thinking of using it in the articles for the site, targetting two of these keywords per article would mean I would really be targetting four

I see what you mean, but Im not interested at all in either WHITE DOGS or WHITE DOGS TRAINING... Im only interested in BROWN DOGS and DOGS TRAINING, so why couldn't I just combine the two to make a longer keyword?

In Off-Page SEO you can use your 2 keyword (brown dogs, dogs training) as anchor text to build links. It helps to give traffic for both the keywords.

In On-Page SEO you can use the combined keyword for optimization in Title, Description, Content, Interlinking, etc... Definitely it will give traffic for both the keywords.

The best value is to diversify your links to do SEO, so you doesn't combine the keywords for SEO is more valuable than combined keywords
