Independent artist here as well. re: submitting stuff to Gracenote via iTunes just insert the physical CD (burn a copy if you don't have one) go into the metadata of the tracks, add all of your information. Once you save the information click options then click submit to gracenote.

How??? I am interested. I have 10+ accounts with my name and they tweet as me. I already reported it but they seemed to just don't care about it.

Gracenote isn't working with Twitter anymore.

Twitter not sell verification. I manage Facebook for many artist and the only way to get verification is to stay complaining about the fake accounts and asking them to remove if they not exist create them by yourself. *** from another IP of course then after a while they verify you on there own,

Follower count doesn't matter. And you need an album with 12+ not 8 to qualify.

i will try other methods. i live in germany and i found some graphic/painting artists with only 15k fans on facebook with verified badge. but this artist has some books listed by amazon.
so my plan is to write an ebook with poems and write down my artist name on cover. i also put other lyrics from writer into this book (they sent me alot) and try to upload it as free ebook on all stores. i also have an artpage on facebook.
maybe it will help me to get verified on facebook. after all i will send a message to twitter and show them my badge on facebook

maybe they will verify me too.
