Well, I got the retweets for it through social share sites. They are not from accounts I made. I make good money in list building and was hoping to add Twitter to help me do that. Thats the reason I test Twitter once in awhile. But its no big deal, I guess Twitter isn't for everybody.
This is a major problem in my opinion, and others are not shining the light particularly well here, but I believe capturing emails from twitter users is counter-intuitive, and that's why it is seldom effective. Your average twitter user may be accessing twitter briefly to acquire the various tidbits of information they can attain from 140 character tweets in bulk. This person, while somewhat likely to click links and visit sites - is very unlikely to engage post this interaction. So it can challenging to monetize this traffic - particularly with direct sales and/or funnel squeezes.
They're often in a rush, not paying attention much, etc...
You are trying to use squeeze pages to capture leads for various offers. If it's remotely spammy - they're less likely to engage with tweet content, and even more likely to not engage post a clicked link. So, I think people have to break of thinking about direct captures like this with twitter users or other users who may largely be using mobile devices at work or while on the go.
I think a twitter user is infinitely more likely to engage with a well constructed app that provides useful information to them over time gradually increasing their receptivity to offers. If you want to milk twitter users, you're going to need to either make money from the bulk traffic it can produce(which is likely what most people commenting positively in this thread do), or actually find a workable angle.
If you're trying to squeeze them into your lead capture channels and it isn't working - maybe you should try something else with them?
I agree with the general sentiment of lesser overall value of a twitter click, but then again - the pennies per click per day I make in adult niches suggest that the true value of a twitter clicker depends on what you're comparing it to. I didn't dump over $400 into a Twitter FL project over the past two weeks because you can't make money with Twitter traffic dude - I did it because I know that people make money with Twitter traffic.
Pay to play is the game here, so climb on board the train. Your follower counts are so low I would not even consider them relative sample sizes, so it's even possible your current strategy works when applied to a larger scale, but I'd probably seek an alternative monetization strategy anyway, and start aiming for the bulk volume of traffic you can easily siphon daily.
