Twitter strategies

Hello,

I recently started a site and am now picking up visits. Slowly.
I have about 20-40 visits daily, most of the originating from twitter and tumblr.
It's an adult site.

I use the following strategies right now:
1. For twitter: i post hourly updates from my site on twitter. It's one link per hour, showing some of my newest movies (the site is movie gallery post basically)
2. For tumblr: I created a script that's used for uploading zip files with images, which also adds random comments to images and puts everything in queue for publishing later. Also, all content published to tumblr is posted to my twitter account.

So, my twitter account has about 50 tweets daily. I guess that's not too much.

I've been receiving about 5 new followers daily.

I'm now wondering:
1. how can i increase the number of followers?
2. how good is the number of followers to my business. I mean, I know that the more means the merrier, but am also wondering HOW merrier

For twitter:
Find other large adult twitter accounts. Scrape their followers and follow / unfollow them.

For tumblr:
Find other established adult blogs with the "followers" widget enabled (it might be called something else, I forget). This is doable with Google. Follow those followers. You can also scrape the adult blogs for users who "liked" and / or reblogged the posts.

I was using a nice automated Twitter follow/unfollow software; brought me much traffic. I just scraped followers like Autumn is talking about, and then weeded out the non- interested people. But I need one with an automated tweeter; that is key.

There,s a number of twitter software programs to help you get more followers. I've been looking recently as i used to use hummingbird 1 ( which was the bomb ) but the company seems to have gone bust and the software doesn't work anymore. At the moment Tweet Attacks is one of the best going around and the good thing is you can try it for free. Just google " free tweet attacks " and you can download the free edition. I'm using it at the mo and while a bit limited it does everything i need.
As far as your followers go the more the better. The more eyes you have on your updates the more click thrus you will get. You can work it out from the amount of followers you currently have versus the amount of click thrus you are getting from twitter. Then work out how many click thrus you would get if you had 5000 or 10,000 followers or however many followers you want.
