Twitter still a good traffic source?

Even i got my Twitter account with lots of followers/following but not much conversions only PM! message made easy for em to have conversations with others.

I posted more then 43k Tweets.

I get that impression too. A lot of serious folks drawn to twitter, but so also the growing number of IM marketers. And my misfortune I meet only the IM guys:)

Naw, 1000's of people aren't making ANY money from twitter.

Twitter sucks now. Tweets don't show up in search and accounts get banned very fast.

You can still make easy money from twitter but as people say they have clamped down on mass accounts and mass following so this limits it massively.

Create an account, add 150 (relevant) followers a day, tweet mainly normal stuff related to your niche and then the occasional cpa offer and you can earn a decent income with just a few accounts.

Just dont appear as a spammer and you can still work it

One of my accounts gets no more than 600 Uniques per month from Twitter. They don't buy jack. People don't go on Twitter to buy stuff that's the core of the problem. Users don't see Twitter as a source of product and service information to buy. They're there to exchange news links and shoot the breeze. Now you can do that and then hope they will come to your blog or video and order whatever it is you're selling, if it's good and unique.

I recently started testing some Twitter messages to track traffic. The only way I have figured out how to track if traffic is coming from Twitter (maybe I'm just dense) is GetClicky. It's free and works really well especially on my WP sites.

I then tested out a couple different methods. Only method that seems to work well (at least for me) is using advanced search, selecting "Question" and then personally responding to people asking buying related questions.

It is free source of leads / customers BUT if you outsource this than of course its no longer free:)

Twitter is good for getting traffic but it isn't going to give you any conversions. It only blasts your site with visitors.

If your goal is to get some conversions on your affiliate products, twitter is a big NO.

It all depends on who and how you're tweeting. Most marketers have other marketers on following and all they want to do is push out links to their products. My DM's are full of links to others products. If you're tweets are only going to other marketers, then you most likely won't get the converstions you're looking for. Although the mass tweet market is good for generating traffic, it's the "relationship" of your followers that will convert. The majority of tweets I see are from marketers trying to get you to their splash paged so they can get you on their list. This gets old real quick. The best results I get are from the followers that genuinely want to know what you're about. If they feel they can "trust" you, then you'll convert....
