twitter permanently locked me ?

So I'v been searching on twitter the phrases "account locked" and "twitter account locked" and there seems to be a LOT of people going through this right now. Hopefully it's just a glitch, I mean they couldn't leave everyone out in the cold like this, right?
 
Did you clear cookies? Or did you just wait it out after resetting your password?

Alright thanks. Maybe that's my problem. I keep going back and checking it. I should probably just leave it alone.
 
Exact same problem for me, tried to reset 15 times and I'm still getting the email "For security purposes, your Twitter account has been locked." at random time even if I don't use my account, since we all got this now we know for sure that's from Twitter's side.

By the way, clear cookies doesn't change anything.

I usually don't do much twitter marketing, but I started mass follow/unfollow on one my 2 year old twitter account 10 days back. Previously twitter used to constantly lock accounts and doing a password reset would unlock it. Now, you need to wait out a certain time after resetting password and when account gets unlocked, following more than 2 people puts an instant lock again. Guess, twitter's tightening up.
 
I've had a similar problem with non-phone-verified accounts and even after a week, they're still locked so I'm left to assume they won't be coming back. Like avi619 said, they're tightening up but to be honest, a phone verification isn't a hassle at all - now you just HAVE to use them to keep hold of any accounts that you value.
 
The phone verification doesn't change anything either :/

I contacted them about that, as soon as I got a reply I'll keep you guys updated.

Funny thing is, if you search on Twitter "account locked" you'll see that there are tons of people in the same situation as us, so we can fairly assume that it's not related to mass follow/unfollow.

So yeah, Twitter just fucked up for the moment.

On the accounts that were locked for me I was only mass favouriting and I was well within the usual limits. I'm interested in their reply regarding the phone verification because all of my phone-verified accounts that are doing the same thing as the ones that got locked, are churning away as normal.
 
Update. I've stopped following/unfollowing but i've been tweeting. So far none of my accounts have been banned. It's been about 3 hours since I reset all my account passwords.
 
I wonder, how many followers do you need to gain followers simply tweeting? I have a 20k+ adult account, it can gain some if I tweet only but it seems painfully slow.
 
So far none of my accounts locked. I've been tweeting to all of my accounts but haven't been following/unfollowing. It's been almost 24 hours since i've unlocked all of my accounts. Hopefully twitter realized the headaches this has caused. I saw some people complaining that their accounts got locked and they did nothing wrong. I'm sure their new account lock method causes headaches for twitter too since they have to deal with more emails from people that have no idea why they were locked out.
 
How is everything working since the Follow Liker update? Are things smooth? I've updated but am not running accounts on it yet. Is there still a delay after an account password is reset or is twitter unlocking accounts instantly after a password reset?
