Twitter + IFTTT My 28 Day Summary

@articlewritingwork - I hadn't started promoting just yet. Then this....

I have an update, and it's not a good one, lol. My account got suspended.

Now I think what happened is I had logged in with different ip addresses. I was on a vpn a few times and forgot about it, and continued to use Twitter.
Another possibility, I got greedy and added too many IFTTT applets, I think I had 4 going + one to make a list. The original one I had did just fine, that one alone got me those stats, but then I saw some other accounts that I wanted to RT and added them. Wish I hadn't done that now. This is one of those things I think that less is more.
I would say probably best just to use one IFTTT app per Twitter acct and leave it at that.

I'm pretty sure that I was not making anywhere near 2000 tweets per day, but I think Twitter also looks at it by the hour. I may have exceeded their hourly limit, and probably quite a few times.
So this has come full circle for me. I knew the IP thing and ignored it, so that's definitely my bad. I didn't want it to turn out this way, but they can't stop me from making new accounts. Lol

I'm just going to be more careful from now on.

Are you only doing that on its own are also following and unfollowing with a bot?
would it be safe to do IFTTT + BOT?

Just thought I would post this screenshot of my Twitter Analytics for the past 28 days.

As you can see I have gained some significant exposure, not to mention 727 new followers and counting, and a 72% increase in total impressions to over 2M isn't too shabby :) All I did was to use an IFTTT applet that would RT another Twitter users tweets.

I chose a user who has over 175,000 followers, and who tweets a lot every single day.

This is kind of a slow method to gain followers, but it's rather safe and steady. The nice thing is that these followers are actually engaged in the content, and they want to follow you.

Some of the more seasoned Twitter people here may not bat an eye at this, but am posting this for anyone who doesn't know - who may be looking for a way to build up their twitter accounts steadily, and free of cost.

If you are interested, here is the link to the IFTTT applet that I am using: https://ifttt.com/applets/213973p-a...of-new-tweets-from-a-specific-twitter-account

enjoy, and have a great day :)

2000 tweets a day? This is insane. I do 12 tweets a day
I think OP said he didn't post anywhere near that many.

The technically possible is 2.4k tweets/day, which is further broken down to semi-hourly limits. The exact number is not published by Twitter, but i think the 2.4k is not a coincidence, because we will get a nice, round number (100) if we divide this (2.4k) with the amount of hours we have in a day (24), if we divide the result (100) by 2 to get the limit for 30 minutes, we get 50. I have never posted anywhere close to this amount on any of my accs, pushing these boundaries is just asking for trouble.

I'm am just doing this with IFTTT.
Not using any other bot to follow.

I think that may be Tweet Impressions per day, not Tweets per day. I think Twitter only allows up to 1000 per day.

Update: My account got restored :)
Hope it stays that way :)

But how will you monetize your Twitter account/s? That is what it is all about?

@SortOfGoodGuy - I'm not really sure about monetization just yet. With only 2000+ followers I'm not sure what I could use at this point.

Ultimately yes, I would monetize, but I want to build it up a lot more before I do that.

Here is an update since my account was restored.

Below is a screenshot of my audience info.
The top 2 interests are Music and Comedy, 88% is male.
Now I have some monetizing ideas, even though my niche has nothing to do with music or comedy :)

Still gaining followers. According to the data I average around 24 per day.

Can this work for several accounts? I meant use it on like 3 people who you want to auto re tweet from a single Twitter account?

Edit:: I figured it out. Now tweeting from top 3 account in my niche.

I would be careful retweeting too many accounts to one Twitter account. It depends on how many tweets each account makes everyday.
You don't want it to go over the daily or hourly limit, and get that suspension notice.

I would just try one at a time for a little while. See whose tweets your audience responds to the best.
That's what I'm doing now.

I hope that helps

I already considered that. None of them tweets more than 45 tweets per day. That's around 135 tweets per day which is a little over 1/10 of Twitter's limits. So, am totally safe.

Thanks for posting your method OP, really appreciated!

I am a newbie of this, I got some questions cuz I seldom use twitter thing, so not very familiar with what you said here lol

Lets say, this is a system, use IFTTT to auto retweet other people's tweets, yeah I got this, but what we should prepare first? A fresh account with nothing? Or you need at least 100/200 etc followers to get traffics? Sorry about my ignorance, really interesting idea and congratz on your back to game!

Yeah just start a fresh account and set everything up, start posting some nice content.

Also do a search for the hashtag #FollowBack. That should get you started nicely :) That's what I did in the very beginning and it helped get me started.

I look at it this way, if I had known about this IFTTT thing back when I started this particular account, I would have been doing it back then.

As far as promotion goes, I will go through my analytics history and look at all my top tweets.
Majority of them are image posts, so I will download the image, watermark it with my url and tweet it again with similar text to the original tweet.

I considered getting all the images from tweets with good engagement rate.
Take those images to Google Search by Image, then start collecting the best ones I can find.
My theory being, if one type of image is getting good engagement rates, then visually similar images may do the same, or not.

Might be worth finding out though :)
