Made some tests on 10 accounts.
First it happends after approx 125 followings. You hit SMS verif.
Now it's at 50 followings for those accounts.

Those settings are tofal follow based, and not day or hourly limitis based.



I also splittest this with some of my legit NO SPAM NO OFFER whatsover accounts.. they reach the same bumps :/

How many tweets per day do you feel would be safe?

Well, i tweet 2-3 tweets per hour, because my tweets are more like status updates and not spamming a link to affiliate products for instance, which can be annoying to the followers, getting bombarded with the same thing again and again. I feel it justified to tweet that much, i post unique image tweets with links and hashtags. If i'm not mistaken the max possible is 2.4k tweets/day, so my 50-75 tweets per day are still well under the allowed limit.

It depends on the delay. I can't speak for unfollowing, but with following, if you follow with short delays e.g. 10 sec, you can get outright suspended. I guess on-one uses short delays anymore, so that's why everyone "only" gets locked. Short delays were perfectly fine 1,5 month ago, now they get you suspended. If you up the delays, i tried with around 1 minute delays, the acc "only" gets locked.
Reading the posts here and in other threads, tbh i'm not sure if increasing the delays even further would do anything or not, but increasing with a lot would make the whole thing close to useless. So i just don't do it anymore and moved onto other actions, there are still a few left, which is relatively safe.

Have you tried to do it manually? Would be nice to know if they track down the API/automated behavior or just everything.

seems twitter changed its tactic, at least with my accounts :
I don't receive SMS verify anymore (in the last 2-3 days)
some of my accounts only tweet : my tweets are ghosted
some other accounts only follow/unfollow : my follow notifications are ghosted

I must say that I removed all the phone numbers of my accounts (as I bought PVA and have no access to the SMS)
maybe it's the reason
I was thinking TW would ask for a number to send me a code
as I had bought some google voice accounts, I was ready to answer them
but they didn't ask, just ghosted me

25 sec delay will get you locked for sure, i tried with 1 minute and the accs got locked after following around 50 people. No suspensions, but if you don't have access to the phone numbers, a lock practically equals to a suspension.

I meant that if you increase the delay to a level where you don't get locked anymore (someone wrote about getting locked with 5 minute delays), if there's such level at all, the following could become too slow, so you'd need the multitude of accs you used before, which would also increase the proxy costs, account costs if you buy them, phone numbers, domains perhaps too. So it can escalate to a point, where it just doesn't worth it anymore.

But if you're willing to do this lock/unlock dance daily with Twitter or after every 50 follows and have access to the phone numbers, it can still worth it i guess.

Depends i guess, i use Twitter for status updates, so it's not like i'm spamming affiliate links to CB products or some shit. The max allowed is 2.4k tweets per day, the hourly limit is 100, compared to that my 75 per day is nothing. I've never had a single problem because of tweeting this much or even twice/trice as much.

Going to try 7-8 minutes delay.
I absolutely agree that if you use followliker or a bot which just follows everyone without checking the quality it's absolutely worthless at the moment.

Yes. It is clear ly 50 follows ... The sms verify.
U can use one real sim for 4 accs and the. Delete it from the account ..
Still you get the verify dance ...

High delay times also do not solve this :/

So... Seems like 50follow / day seems to be it .. Or you automate the sms verify somehow ... That's either expensive via smspva or cumbersome with real sim.

I will set the daily follow now to max 40. See what will happen

If an account is getting SMS verification a lot and you keep repeating the action, it wouldn't surprise me if you end up with a permanent suspension of that account.

This is literally what happened to me. The 'best' part is, that it happened right when I was done writing my bot, and actually added the feature to automatically detect locked account and send SMS right away, prompting user in terminal to enter the unlocking code, and pretty much getting rid myself of this annoying locking. Little did I know that twitter would just suspend me without blinking an eye. Oh well.

Of course. The account probably gets tagged as a likely spammer, so it will be more vulnerable to bans in the future.

No suggestions -- it depends on how many accounts you have, how many followers, what they're used for, etc. Some people can afford to lose accounts here and there.

I only run a few accounts, and I can't afford to lose any of them, so I've stopped following and unfollowing for the moment. Only tweeting for now.

It's a bad idea to continue following/unfollowing immediatly after unlocking for doing so. I only continue on the next day and only one account got banned for unknown reasons since I do so.

Update about the current situation:
I just tried to follow 100-200 people with a delay of about 7 minutes and only 2/50 accounts got locked. Will see how it contiues, at least it's more than nothing.

man you've projected some bleak future..but i haven't seen any of it

in fact, i didnt really know there was a problem but perhaps my method is a bit different as i dont use a bot.

i definitely get locked anytime that I unfollow + follow people. Following people is where I get locked. for instance, if i unfollow 300 people. when i go to follow about the 2nd one my account is pretty much always locked.. but unfollowing people there is/are 0 issues

however, ive never had to time anything. i've been adding and unfollowing people a lot recently with no problems. like 1k adding and 500 unfollowing and while i usually get the sms re-verify..i do it once and then i'm fine

i did not know there were issues going on

perhaps this is purely for bots?
