OK, here's something weird... Meddie, I used your edu and gov links and directed them to a bit.ly link and then sent 5k gsa backlinks to them.
So did my DR increase? No.
But I'm getting traffic, about 30 visits a day.
See the graph below... what is this traffic? How come?

Haha.. yeah i know this trick. Earlier i had tested this with one of my site and i haven't seen any improvement in ranking. Maybe Google ignore this type of links since they are not relevant. I forgot, but there was also the same type of link available with Amazon.com review page.
