To speed up this process, I would build backlinks to my rss feeds. More specifically, I used alot of domains I had just sitting around and put them to good use:
1. Set up autoblogs on these sites. Nothing special, just scraped google blog search and have them update everyday with 10-20 new posts. I don't even try to monetize it because I don't care, these domains are wasting space and waiting to expire. Why? Autoblogs get spidered like crazy and bots crawl links on them frequently.
2. I added my rss feeds to the blogrolls. I use linkubait and added the code on my sidebar. Then I added my feed links to linkubait. Currently I have 20 autoblogs with 16 links on each one that randomly rotate between 50 feeds that have 100 links on each feed.
3. Wait a few days and your links WILL get crawled and indexed. In one week I can usually get 40-50% of all the links indexed. Of course I'm sure that number would significantly increase if I stuck to only a few feeds. I end up replacing links each week because I do a lot with xrumer and profile links.
I'm sure you can come up with other ways to get the links indexed fast. Even scaling this method up could radically improve the index speed.
