[TUT] Make Amazon Sites That Convert

Bookmarked...nice tutorial...I'm going to let my 13 year old run with this.

Thanks for the tips here, I'm going to try these.

just out of interest should all my affilate links be NOFOLLOW and if so, why is that?

Some reflection on the sites I have from the EMDs that LBown sold me.

2 sites suck terribly... real bad... no rankings... no traiffic... nothing... who cares though because...

The other 8 have me on cloud 9... great rankings... great traffic and most importantly great revenue.

LBrown is a stand up human being offering a very solid service that can make you money if you take her base product and build on it.

Kudos, Kudos, Kudos, LBrown!

Great info, read the entire stuff, Thanks for your time and patience replying to every post.

Thanks for all the information, do you know if Amazon allow you to use their images on your site. I know with the banners, widgets etc it's fine, but what you're doing is different, I just wondered if we would be breaking any copyright laws with Amazon.

Sorry if this question sounds dumb, I should read Terms and Conditions.

1 question, do you also cloak your amazon affiliate links when you're using the adsplugin.net amazon plugin to insert ads to your site ? :)

Sorry I missed this question, EXtraHand. I use adsplugin by itself and don't do any cloaking on top of it.

Yes. It's against Google's webmaster guidelines to not "nofollow" paid links and a solid argument could be made that you are being reimbursed for linking to Amazon. And, why pass on d0follow link juice to Amazon?

Yes, you can use their images.

This method is ok and can work, but it's far from optimal. I wouldn't even say it's accepted wisdom for how to do Amazon affiliate sites. I know I'm being kind of harsh on you, but I'm not going to let off just because you're a girl.

So what can you share with the group, sir?

Care to elaborate a little more on what is more optimal? Rather than just put down the OP and leave it at that...

Miss LBrown. So you mean you just make a one page site for your amazon affiliate?

I have written about eight unique articles (1000/1400 word) for this project posting one everyday and slowly building high PR backlinks to the site, blogger by the way.

Pity with Amazons new guidelines it looks like I'll have to leave the affiliate url naked, would have liked to have cloaked it. I'm still not sure about using the image above the fold without an amazon approved button, partly not to have the blogger deleted due to blogger being an ass, and partly due to Amazon maybe deleting the account for guidelines, non amazon button.

Are you still sticking with what you've been doing so far LBrown, or are you changing things up to comply withe new guidelines?

So I'm guessing that would be true for any affiliate link, I need to NO FOLLOW all my affiliate links across all sites? OUCH!!! that's gonna cost a few days :(

Isn't there any wp plugin?
I couldn't find any... so far.

LBrown - What are your thoughts on the new Amazon policies (http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ciates-changes-rules-read-not-get-banned.html )

This in particular:

"30. You will not cloak, hide, spoof, or otherwise obscure the URL of your site containing Special Links (including by use of a redirecting page) such that we cannot reasonably determine the site from which a customer clicks through such Special Link to the Amazon Site."

Are you going through all your Amazon sites and changing them?

There was a thread about it here:

I changed all my sites that had any kind of redirection and/or cloaking. It took about week but I got some needed maintenance work done on my sites so I'm not bitter. I contacted Amazon about the adsplugin and they said it was fine so I left those sites alone.

That adsplugin plugin looks pretty good and it's cheap. Do you think it's too risky to cloak the amazon links so that Google/spiders see a regular non-affiliate amazon link and everyone else sees the same amazon links but with your affiliate code?
