Hi,

I have been pouring over posts for the past week now trying to put together a list of software and services that I could use in a Tumblr strategy. So far the following are my intended purchases:

- FollowLinker
- Actproxy
- MediaLoverz account creation (unless someone can suggest something better)

My initial intent will be simply to create blogs over the course of the next 2-3 months without any monetization. I want to build a strong following on about 100-200 Tumblr accounts (say approximately 10K each). I'm hoping that this number is low enough to seem natural (that's roughly 110 followers per day per account).

I've looked over several dozen posts using various search terms for a strategy that would help me achieve this. Something that has been tried and tested. I've unfortunately come up blank. I am hoping that some of you reading this post will be able to point me at threads that you have perhaps tried or even threads you haven't tried but that you feel you'd like to try some day.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this and I hope to one day become and integral part of this community that is able to share the kind of insight I am seeking right now.

Regards

Depending on your niche, do prepared for account bans, it happens with tumblr, just part of the game. So taking the long term approach "may" be risky. But depends on what you are doing / niche / quality of proxies / accounts.

Also, managing 200 accounts, will take some learning. If you have run many accounts in bots before, should be fine, if this is a first, I would advise to start with an easier goal.

Don't forget to think about your monetisation strategy, whether guest posts, squeezing users off tumblr to your main money sites etc.

Good luck

Hi rootjazz,

Firstly, I want to thank you for taking the time to post a reply; it's very appreciated.

I currently manage a tumblr account manually and have done so for about 2 years. I'm at about 6K followers.
I don't intend starting off with 200 new tumblr accounts from day one but rather build up to that number over the course of 2-3 (more likely 3) months. I would like to squeeze users off my tumblr accounts over to money sites but only after they gain some traction. I don't mind playing a slightly longer endgame if that means my accounts are more secure and less likely to get banned. A few bans along the way are to be expected I guess.

Incidentally, there are a couple of your products that I have my eye on and I was intending contacting you once I got this tumblr project off the ground.

Once again, thanks for the reply and advice.

His products are good. I use them.

As for building up that many followers, well, it won't be easy. Depends on the niche etc.. like Rootjazz said.

I'd create my own accounts (max 2 per day) and you'd have 60 in a month. Slowly add them to your software/bot and learn as you go. I have found that following lots of people everyday leads to quick bans. Follow few, reblog and like lots and post a 'sprinkle' of posts that lead to your money site in between. A ratio of 1 money post to 25 should be good.

Good plan to build up. I quite often see / get messages like "I have never used a bot before and I want to start with a 1000 accounts, how do I do it.." It is an easy answer though: you have to learn. No one is going to teach you, hold your hand every step of the way.

As for squeezing users, again it is niche dependant. Water marking, lower quality / small images on tumblr - full quality on site, promising extras on your site etc etc. The usual SEO marketing 101

200 is a silly goal. You will probably get most banned before they every get going :D. get 20 running steady and add another 20 etc.
