Trying to set a goal for Pinterest

I'm trying out affiliate marketing and i'm using pinterest. I just started a little less that a week ago and i'm almost at 500 followers and I have a few pins spread around to about 8 different boards now. If i stick with this and get myself more momentum would making $300 a month by december be a reasonable goal? I'm using the "how to make money online" niche along with posting items from ebay that are having a good sale.

On what assumptions did you based this goal?

Personally, I don't think you have to set up a monetary goal at the very beginning of your journey.

Instead try to set operational goals. Goals such as the number of pins per week/month, goal of number of followers reached.

Try to get goals that you can control and measure.

With monetary goal, you can measure them, but you can't control. At least not a beginning when you don;t know your engagement rate.

In addition, if this is your first journey, there are high chances you will some mistakes, so learning is another important goal.

Based on what? with just one account?

With good pins you will have a click through rate of around 2,5% on pinterest. That means you for every 1000 impressions you'll get 25 visitors. So let's say your landingpage or affiliate site is very good and converts with 5 percent and earns you commissions of 5 us-dollar. This means you need 60 people per month buying the product for your goals which translates to roughly 50.000 impressions on your pins.

Now test your growth for a week and extrapolate, adjust the numbers and you'll see if this is doable. ;-)

but setting a hard financial goal without any numbers is kinda useless.

Fulltime effort with multiple accounts i'd say it is easily doable.

Pinterest can be pretty profitable. Just make sure you have a good landing page. If you don`t hit your goal, just keep at it until you do.
