Trying to get to No1 in google

How many exact keyword searches does your target keyword get? Also how many current backlinks do you have?

Its around 2.3 million search results for the keyword thats position 3 and 1.7 million results for the other keyword which is page 3 (only started work on this keyword around a month ago).

I have around 1300 back links. From researching competitors it appears they have less back links but have more high pr back links which goes to show that high pr backlinks are worth a lot than hundreds of non relevant no/low pr links.

As well these guys above me are working equally as hard on SEO - so to get past the top 2 is a very difficult task as you do not know if they are doing things better or working a lot harder. I've been position 2 a couple of times only to find 1-2 days later find im back at number 4.

Try to make some .edu or .gov links.
I think these will help you to get your position.
 
The first year i didn't have a clue about SEO and basically got taken advantage of by SEO people that claimed to promise page 1 rankings. After wising up a lot and finding a good SEO guy this year rankings have just got better - i have also in the last year read a lot on this forum and been working along side my SEO guy building links.

I have avoided doing risky link building as this is a physical business that gets all work from online and turns over in excess $6000 a month - so i think you guys can imagine you would think twice in doing huge link blasts incase of damaging rankings.

I will get all the services i've used and list them here for people once rankings improve more.
 
Im not to sure how many links have been built - id say around 600-700, but as i said it seems the High pr links work better.

One method we have used is to buy 8-10 year old domains which are pr4-5 and then put relevant content on that site and link my main site to it. This pulls in great link juice for the site and google seems to love these - the domains that are purchased need to have research done on them as a lot of scammers out there offering fake pr sites...
 
i have a legit site that i actually care about. it is a boxing site and i want it to eventually be the best. but other than for the name of the site, my rank sucks for everything. i used freetrafficsystem which seemed to work for the name of my site and the fighters nickname, but i am nowhere to be found on things like boxing news, boxing, boxing forum, etc. i still write like 1 article a week which gets me 30 backlinks, plus i see my site is quoted in a ton of places. so why am i nowhere out there? i was number 28 2 weeks ago for "boxing site" but have since disappeared altogether for that. i didnt try anything shady. my site is 8 months old. i truly believe my site is great, but nobody sees it. ideas? i suck at this internet marketing thing

exact or broad? i doubt it is exact with that many searches but i might be wrong.
 
i am also in this position and i try to use scrapebox to rank higher.
 
No i mean websites listed in google.. searches per month exact for the keyword are 12,000 per month and 10,000 for the other keyword.
 
Google analytics report around 1500-1600 uniques per month to the website. When i was position 2 for one of the keywords i was getting 20-30% more traffic and sales i would say. I think being number 1 for both keywords i think the traffic would go up to 4000-5000 per month.
 
Personally I would tae BassTrackerBoats up on his offer, his is quite good at what he does.
backlinks, on site SEO and use xsite to check the seo on your site.
