Hello,

I am working with a client on getting their restaurant to rank higher in TripAdvisor.

They use to hold the 29th place for "restaurant" in their city, then they slipped to 96. They still hold the #1 place for their more long-tail keyword. They have over 600 5 star ratings, no negative.. average 4.5. And they are the best restaurant in their food nitch.
  • Do you know the elements that go into pushing a TripAdvisor account up higher?
  • They do not have a web page or social media footprint, do these factors go into placement levels?
  • Beyond just more reviews, what other factors can I look at to help boost them up?
  • Are their whitehat service providers that can help push a listing up? (sorry boys, no black hat on this one)
Thank you for your time.

I am not an expert in tripadvisor SEO
But here are few considerations:

Replace the description with the new words
Add few more quality images for the products since they are restaurant - they must have some good photos
Make the users to give reviews by offering discounts in the restaurant - in this way - we can get lot of reviews - which helps to improve the position.

Great advice my friend, I will do this and see what happens. :)

I'm doing the same for clients but the key is consistent reviews
5-7 per week

Firstly, answer to all reviews.
Good comments are more effective than bad comments,
New dated comments are more effective than the old ones.
And if the restaurant gets from same IP and same time few reviews, get penalty.
PS: If you can send me your listing i can check better.
