Translation is just fine. If you feel uncomfortable with doing just that (if it was an article taken for the internet), just spin it in its translated form.

Google translator works very well for me. Of course you need to tweek the translation a bit and correct obvious grammar mistakes, but it's still so much faster then writing the whole article by yourself.
I need 5 minutes or something to correct a google translated 600 words text. In no way would I be able to write a 600 word article in only 5 minutes.
I'm only using content created like this for web 2.0 sites and such, not for my money sites. Thus the content doesn't have to be grade A.

i often translate texts, and i never trust any translation tools! they make these non-sense sentences. so, if you really care about the quality of your articles, then you should just translate the articles yourself or outsource it.

Google translator is not accurate. I do suggest that you hire a professional writer who might be able to help you in translating the article.

Google translate works if you take the time to edit the article.Yes the editing part sucks, but it beats writing the article from scratch. Sure, you can spin faster but if you want your WEB 2.0s to stand the test of time, one click spinning is NOT the way to go.

I got to a point where I could translate and edit 4000 words in a couple of hours,leaving me with 8-9 reasonably good articles to post on my WEB 2.0s. I really hate writing so this saves a lot of time.

No good, the Google Panda Update is all about satisfying the Search Engine users. If you use google translate, your translated article will be unreadable. Since it is unreadable nobody want to stay long. If you translate it manually, then Yes. It is counted as unique article.
