Translated articles = Unique content?

I would like to know if I translate articles from English to French and make a blog in french with translated articles it counts like unique content to SE.
I would like to know too if is good have english backlinks to a french site.

edit: can I have ads from AdSense and CPA at same time in one blog?
Should I host my french website on french servers or can i use servers from usa?

How accurate is the translating working for you? My experience using google translate is that while most words are correct, some words come close but are contextually wrong. And many times complete sentences are ruined by this.
 
yeah avoid tranaslating to keywords with languages with special characters , Content definitely passes copyscape , but is not at all readable.

I've seen a popular method is to translate it multiple times using French, English, and I believe German. I can't remember the exact sequence but its something like English --> French --> English --> German --> French --> English or some shit. So in your case, you would just stop before the final traslation into English. Then just take that, past it into word, and grammar/spell check.

Yes, you can have both adsense and cpa on the same blog. Servers shouldn't make a difference.
 
I know that the translate isn't perfect, however i can correct some words myself ...
and about backlinks? someone knows anything?

Tried it a couple of time and had to do quite a lot of rewriting
 
Just stay away from the machine translation. Google sent my website into never ever land using that script mainly because my competition was mad I was outranking them with machine translated articles so they submitted multiple spam reports on my website.

Adsense did try to disable ads on my site also because they thought it was auto generated content. I told them I was trying to provide a service internationally by translating my articles into different languages so the ban was lifted.

All in all, they put a severe penalty on my website that lasted over 8 months so I just parked the domain and now is starting over from scratch, the legit way, but it was good while it lasted!

But to answer your question, translated articles do equal unique content.

If your links have anchors in english then you will only rank well in english.The G algorithm is dumb and does not translate anchor text very well. there will be some weight but not 100%.

you can use translator to build backlink ^^
use it for your level 2-3 in your link pyramid.

In this case, you don't care about readable, just for SE to analyse it is duplicated or not.

You also can use it for your niche site but must rewrite 50% of that article
 
Different language = unique content. I'm not sure that it would necessarily matter, though, since your French site would be more likely to appear in the French search engine and your English site in the English results.

I agree, though, do not rely on the translator. It can be helpful in coming up with words that you are not sure of, but you should have a reasonable grasp on the language.

it is unique, only if no other takes the same article and do the same with you
 
I prefer to search for doc & pdf files in other languages, and translate them into English for medium grade unique content in English.
