I'm a member of about 50 Facebook groups related to my content niche, and I'm trying to drive traffic to my website. While the group admins allow my links (they're never flagged as spam), the traffic I'm getting is minimal.

I've noticed an interesting pattern: if I stop posting links for two days, the next post gets more clicks than what I'd get over the following 4-5 days of regular posting. It's almost as if Facebook limits how many outbound clicks a domain can receive.

Even though it's 2025 and this might be old news, I'm wondering how to effectively drive traffic from Facebook groups. Should I:

  • Use multiple domains with copies of my site?
  • Use redirect links (Twitter, Bitly, etc.)?
  • Create multiple Facebook accounts to post links to the same domain?

What are the current best practices? Any insights would be appreciated.

Thank you!

FB groups are not as active and relevant as a few years ago
Unfortunately there are many dead groups and they don't even appear on FB feed for their members

Yes, many. Still, there is a lot of traffic to tap into.

User psychology is that when a link appears many times in a short period of time, they will think it is not reputable.

You can create a topic or event related to your website or product to increase people's attraction and make high interaction, then Facebook's distribution to everyone will be on a wider scale.

How to Attract More Traffic to Your Facebook Groups

To increase traffic to your Facebook group, you need to apply multiple strategies to attract and retain members. Here are some effective ways:

1. Optimize Your Facebook Group

  • Catchy & Searchable Group Name: Choose a name that includes relevant keywords to make it easier to find.
  • Clear & Engaging Description: Clearly introduce your group and highlight the benefits of joining.
  • Attractive Cover Photo: Use a visually appealing and professional-looking cover image.
  • Hashtags & Keywords in Posts: Help your group appear in Facebook searches.

2. Share Your Group Across Multiple Platforms

  • Share the group link on your personal profile, fan pages, and other related groups.
  • Promote it on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Zalo, Telegram, etc.
  • Add the group link to your bio on social media platforms.

3. Post Engaging & Consistent Content

  • High-Quality & Relevant Posts: Share valuable insights and trending topics.
  • Use Images, Videos & Livestreams: Visual content is more engaging.
  • Create Interactive Content: Ask questions, conduct polls, run mini-games or giveaways.

4. Leverage Facebook Features

  • Invite Friends & Encourage Members to Invite Others: Ask members to invite their friends.
  • Use Facebook Reels & Stories: Post short videos introducing your group to reach a wider audience.
  • Host Events: Organize online/offline events to engage members.

5. Run Facebook Ads (If You Have a Budget)

  • Promote your posts or run ads to invite people to your group.
  • Target the right audience interested in your niche.

Welcome and from what i know facebook reduced considerable traffic on facebook groups as i think they want prople to invest money in ads
I check fb groups and in the past posts onnfb groups receive thousands of groups but now barely receive 1 commemt so i think you should not depend only on groups for traffic

FB can limit click-outs by domain. Solutions: Reduce post frequency, use redirects (Bitly, Twitter), rotate multiple domains, or hide links via a buffer page. Test multiple formats (images, CTAs, comment links) to avoid being squeezed.

Please share your group on other social media platforms to attract organic views. Share content that is relevant to your target audience, or you can also run additional ads in the group if you have the budget.

There are still active groups but not like it was back in the day. Probably best to try and get group members off the group into another place like a group of your own

Post daily if the content is interesting and engaging, otherwise it will be boring

You should create enough events to attract viewers to click on your link

Don't target too broadly, narrow your target audience based on demographics, interests, behaviors, and other criteria

To attract more traffic to your Facebook group, you can use many strategies to attract members such as: optimizing the group and in addition, you should share your group on many platforms, advertise more on Instagram, Telegram or TikTok. Moreover, you should focus on attractive images, videos and content. Then your group will attract more people to know.

You should focus on the content and topics of the posts you make to increase interaction and attract customers. If your posts are similar and increase frequently, people will create boredom and unattractiveness, so your attraction will decrease day by day. Create quality posts.
