I've been in the algo trading game for about 5 years. I even went as far as creating my own algo, licensing it to a stock exchange, and buying a dedicated server for HFT. But let me tell you, algos eventually burn out. They're great for a while, but markets change, and what worked yesterday might not work tomorrow. Now, I'm mostly a manual trader, and I've drastically reduced my trade frequency to about 3 per week. As for crypto, I don't even bother with bots. The market is so volatile that long-term strategies often outperform any algo.
