Yes probably about 95-99% are.
Just posting back, the tracking code I was given is working, I can see it's gone through 3 sorting offices and past customs in china...

Lots of luck. I bought what I thought were going to be 2 U.S. made guitars on TradeTang, or so their ad pictures and description showed. What I actually received were 2 counterfeit "Rickenbackers" made by angry Mongols in the Gobi Desert. The substitution was made without prior warning or approval and am not pleased at all. Evidently "truth in Advertising" and "Bait and Switch" are interchangeable in Cantonese. "Consumer Protection" and "Full Refund" do not translate at all.
Their escrow is a joke. On a $758 USD order, they want to return only $300 USD. Probably what the fakes are really worth in the first place with the rest going to pay for their "free shipping". PayPay will not help you nor will your credit card companies. Do a Google search. Type in "TradeTang Complaints" and do some homework before you get sucked out of your hard earned cash. This is not an isolated case. This is widespread and blatent, in-you-face fraud on a grand scale designed to undermine our economy folks. See the news about the counterfeit tires? It doesn't stop there. You have been warned. Buyer beware - be very aware!

Just a warning guys! Dont buy any electronic stuff on tradetang it's poor quality and sometimes doesn't work at all..
lol, why has "4on6jazz" posted 10 times about his bad experience? TRADETANG IS NOT A SUPPLIER, BUT A PORTAL FOR SELLERS AND BUYERS. Stop bashing TradeTang, it is providing a great service. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! buying guitars from china and not thinking they will be poor quality, hahaha. Maybe it will teach you a lesson. Obviously that supplier didnt have feedback, so you were the dummy. I am in the process of receiving my order. The ordering process was great and i have been able to track it 24 hrs after i payed...should be here tomorrow

Trade Tangs answer to customer protection was to offer only $300 refund on an $800 order to which I would be obligated to return the counterfeit merchandise at a cost to me of $450. TradeTang is compliciant in the deception by allowing the merchant to operate as usual. I only hope your experiance with them is better than mine and not a bait and switch scam like mine was. Best of luck but for now, I'm not doen with tradeTang yet.

think of them as presents for someone, get your seller to supply both (they will) get free shiping too, wait and see.
your seller will supply more personal pics of the items if he thinks your gonna buy bulk, oh and he will hold up a bhw card too haha

You cannot sell "replicas" or "copies" on e-bay. Counterfeit merchandise violates U.S. copyright infringement laws that most manufactureres watch sites like this for in order to stop it. They will come after you and e-bay will suspend your selling privileges. Not worth the risk. The quality is not as good either - you run the risk,of not obtaining a full refund if you are dissatisfied, and, return shipping costs far outweigh the actual value of the item you purchased. PayPal and your credit card company will not help you since it will cost them their fees. I was stung with 2 counterfeit electric guitars in a bait and switch operation by seller wanglaoj117 (a.k.a. Fechang Li). I have turned over all documents to the U.S. Attorney General. If you buy anything it has to be understood that you know full well you may be stuck with inferior merchandise you cannot resell.

I was also taken advantage of in my electric guitar purchase.The ad by wanglaoj117 showed American made instruments but that is not what he shipped. Tradetangs generous refund offer on a nearly $800 purchase order was only $300 (probably what the fake guitars were really worth to begin with - the remainder going towards their "Free Shipping"). It would cost me $450 to ship back merchandise to China to ontain a $300 refund - anything wrong with this picture? It is not worth being scammed.

I tried to access the site you refer to and it is no longer listed on 10-2-09.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. When in doubt - go without. You are far better off saving your hard earned money up to buy the real item on e-bay or Best Buy rather than a counterfeit on TradeTang. with electrical items there are no warranties on TradeTang - what happens if you need service? Do you think the legitimate manufacturere will service or replace a counterfeit? You cannot resell copies on e-bay so you're stuck with whatever you bought.
We are all very aware of the problems you had with the guitars but please stop repeating yourself again and again.
I have ordered off there and am in the process of receiving my goods. Just make sure the seller has good feedback and like stated before stay away from the electronics as you will most likely be disappointed.
Of course the prices you are paying on trade tang are going to be higher than other places but if you buy sensible and want that added protection against fraud then its a great website. Well im hoping so anyway as my orders on the way

Just because you thought you would get a legit guitar for a fraction of the price from China...well, use your common sense. Thats all you need to do:

U.S. Customs never opened my package for visual inspection but instead passed it through based solely on the shipping label written in broken English and Chinese characters. The answer is NO. I wish they had opened it, then they would have spotted the fake guitars I got stuck with in a bait and switch operation and stopped them at the border.
TradeTangs escrow is a joke. They will pay the vendor no matter what you say. They are the proverbial fox guardding the henhouse.
Any potential refund only reflects the actual value of the counterfeit fake merchandise - far less than what you actually paid (the remainder went to pay for your "free shipping"). PayPal will not protect you outside of e-bay. Neither will your credit card company - it jeopardises their handsome fees.
Avoid this site altogether.

PayPal doesnt protect you when you buy from chinese wholesale sites?
Lame.. I chose GayPal because of the protection..
I also thought when you buy with creditcard you can reverse payment?

I bought a "Gibson" Les Paul Custom from China a year back and I payed 280 USD. Knowing it was going to be a replica. I was quite satisfyed after replacing the pups, bridge, tuners...well all the hardware really and I ended up spending about 800 USD for a reasonably good guitar with a "hot" logo. Thinking you'd get a real Gibson for a few hundred dollars is not realistic and I think it's as naive as thinking the neclases and rings that you buy from China is made of real gold. You're not serious are you? Did you really think it was a real Gibson? What did you think it was doing in China anyway? American craftmanship exported to China and then sold back to the west?? Get new hardware for you guitar and get it set up properly! You'll se you got a pretty decent guitar for little money.

After read all posts I agree with a lot of us guys, most of chinese traders want to get our money and run away. I got scammed by alibaba some months ago, a friend of mine too. We lost about $1200 ordering cell phones, after this I read a lot about Scam and will give some tips:
1. Never pay via Western Union - Thats the way the scammers LOVE !
2. If you want to buy some product search the web about it and ask for VERY SPECIFIC detais, scammers dont know a clue about the product, so be sure to ask little thinks because it can differ a scammer from a real trader.
3. Ask for detailed photos, like a zoom in a specific part of the product, or ask for a photo of the product with the chat screen behind it.
4. Research, research and research to know where to buy, sites like alibaba or tradetang have a LOT of scammers so preffer to buy from a online store.
5. The better place i know to find suppliers: globalsources (dot) com but remember, when talking with chineses, EVER PAY ATTENTION

I agree there are alot of (chinese) scammers who will do literally anything for USD. But I don't agree on all points.
Western Union sucks thats for sure. But the majority of Chinese people can't speak english very well. If your supplier isn't based in Hong Kong chances are they can't speak english at all and use a online translator.
Chinese are greedy and somewhat manipulative people. No offense but its the truth. I have a chinese friend (not a close friend) who can sadly confirm this. They are greedy for sure. Manipulative? not all of them but most of them yes. I'm not a rascist I'm just stating the facts. I sincerely apologize if I offend someone.
Always be on your guard when dealing with Chinese suppliers. Never buy from one without good feedback. But even when buying from a supplier with alot of great feedback there is a chance you will get scammed. The only question is when and for how much.
