Trackbacks do I turn em on or not? I never understood if I wanted them on or not? If I leave them on do people get to post spam on my site?

I have the same problem. Can anyone give us an answer? Also, is having tag cloud beneficial or not? Thanks in advance.

Leave them on, you never know if a high page links to your content..

A trackback is just a notification. Do anything aside from marking them as spam. Most of them are spam but some of them are legit. Just don't waste your time with them... The spam trackbacks are just volume grabs (hey! visit my site, I linked to you).

So leave trackbacks on sitewide? I am not giving out links doing that?

No, you are not. You are seeing them only in your admin, where you need to approve them.
For me personally, trackback is a good source to see what links to me - at the admin backend. However, I never ever approve them to be seen on the pages.
