Hello everyone,

I need some help with my home network setup. It heavily relies on a VPN, and I couldn't find a provider hosting the V2Ray protocol, so I set up my VPN using an Azure student account.

It worked perfectly—I could download, upload, and even torrent without issues. However, my subscription got suspended after just one day, and the seller said it was due to "wrong usage."

So, my question is: **Is it prohibited to download or upload torrents on Azure VPS?**

Nothing wrong with Torrenting on Azure as far as I can tell by their Subscription Agreement Terms. But something that is not allowed is distributing copyrighted material over their Network. Did you maybe Torrent anything copyrighted?

Anyways, the red warning says that the Subscription was disabled due to suspicious activity. From my experience with Azure from the past, this means that they noticed something strange. This could be you logging in from different location, deploying large instances or any other stuff that could trigger this, perhaps even the card the seller used.

Did the person who sold you this account tell you what IP to use to login or anything like that? Azure, AWS, Google Cloud and such Cloud services are strict about such stuff due to Abuse from "Customers".

obviously, isnt that the purpose of torrenting? also i dont think they can know what im torrenting because here is the setup:
vps-> v2ray server :the vps hosts a v2ray server
home-> v2ray client: the home connects to vps through v2ray and the torrenting happens in home clients

told me to only log in using vietnam vpn but it was so slow that i cant even deploy instance, so i switched to germany while on the same logged in session

"Torrenting" is just a way to share files via P2P, but it is mostly known for Piracy, yes.

My guess is that this could lead to your account being suspended. Not only did they notice that a different IP was used to log in, but also that activities were performed from a different location.

By the way, can't you just use an AWS Free Tier instance for this? It should work fine, and you can even create it yourself for free. If something goes wrong, you can resolve it on your own without relying on a 3rd party account seller, who has most likely created hundreds of accounts in the past and perhaps left huge footprints?

Also check out Digital Ocean and Linode accounts, I use them and a single VPS lasts me about ~2 months before getting suspended.

then thats probably the issue

cant because everytime i create one it gets suspended too + im getting one year azure student 100$ for just 10$ and as i remember aws free tier with just 1 month
