I agree with you. I was about to remove 000webhost and infinityFree from the list for the reasons you mentioned. I haven’t tried the rest as I am on a reliable paid French hosting. Still, that’s good for beginners and testing, as you mentioned.

That's great information but what is the difference between paid or free web hosting.

Thanks for your comments i was about to try out infinity free or000webhost but now i think i'll try Awardspace i just wanted to run a blog.

Awardspace is decent but they disable everything - fsockopen, curl and mail are all disabled.

I think it is the limitations of the features and the speed of the hosting service. If you don't have money for your website for now, use this free hosting service.

I just "signed up" with Pro Free Host (no. 9 on the list) and OpHosting (no 11 on the list) and they both suck because ProFreeHost doesn't grant you access to your member's area. They want you to disable the adblocker because they rely on 3rd party ads to survive, and after I disable the adblocker the member's area is nothing but more ads LOL

And OpHosting only gives you sub-domain as a free member, no domain name.

Also, no. 4, 5, and 7 on the list don't seem to exist anymore. I can't find their URLs in google, so if they have changed and now exist under a different name please let me know cause I'd like to try them out.

So, what currently seems to still work are awardspace (6), freehostia (8), and ufullhost (10). Oh, and maybe also 1, 2 and 3, but since those are bad (as per @CyHead comment) I left them out.
