I tested this already a few weeks ago and it's working nice.

How to live stream longer then 4+ hours?
Will this only work when you have a fanpage with a lot of fans already or are there any ways to promote it?

There is continuous stream option in settings when starting up stream, but there are downsides.
After you end the stream the post gets deleted and users don't get notifications when you start it like they do on normal 4 hour one.
On the bright side you can stream for days..
 
Is there a live video application you can recommend for Mac users, mate?
 
Does this count the votes for real or just random generated numbers as some people do it?

Yes, OBS is working fine on a Mac, but it don't support MP4 on a mac, so you have to convert the video to .webm format.

It's showing real numbers, so in my opinion it works only great when you have huge fanbase, but maybe I'm wrong....
 
Just wanted to throw and idea out that might help someone. I did this on a throw away account and used a free status auto liker online. When the likes start coming in post in groups about the heart option. In my case I could post in cat forums and say "Help win the cats back!" or something. It's probably a good idea to let comments and natural likes , hearts etc. start it off. But this could give you a push if you use it right.

You are saying to create a facebook app if you want longer then 1 hour, can you explain how to integrate it with your code?
